With the increasing violence in movies, video games, and society, and with the internet being full of porn and giving easy access to wank material, do you find that men are becoming less submissive, more selfish and demanding, and less respectful of Mistresses and all women in general? Are men becoming less submissive and more selfish fetishists?

I see overall a decline in manners in both sexes, even from my shallow reference point of the seventies. I know it is the thing to do often in adulthood, to look narrowly upon the younger generations and find error with morals, upbringing, etc., but I'll have nothing to do with that; those my age and above are just as guilty.

As for men, one might say the art of chivalry is a dying one, and with that, naturally, the theater for a man to express submission with civil dignity. It's easy to see why if you care to look around. We have gone to great lengths in marketing iconoclasm to ourselves and raising all things swine as the new "real". Our social retardation overall seems to be increasing, and there are many reasons for this—too many for me to undertake writing about, because if I do I won't leave my chair until 4:00am. For this reason, I hope you forgive my brevity on the matter.

True, how true.

Instead of this damsel finding her gentleman dominant she gets."Im ordering you to webcam". Or "hit me up and we'll get it on".

The art of seduction seems to be dying.

I resent that.  I've had no difficulty seducing men lately. [:D]

Here is a brain twister...i don't think we are becoming less submissive..just more intolerable.I used to pursue and pursue hard with a deep need to rush things along in some cases.Obviously that is a piss-poor approach.Now...well i still see the sands of time moving too quickly, but i am not as i once was.I have become more tolerable as a person because i do not expect anything to happen.I will occassionally drop a line(make that a respectful decent letter)from time to time.Only now there are no expectations in a response and if there is one,i just take it a day at a time.Basically, that is what we really have to work with anyways.

Sowwy. i guess I speak only of men. Very few take dance lessons. Few know the Tango. I like that about Latin dance. The dances tell a story of seduction. I think very few know how to court a lady.

All joking about role reversals aside, I couldn't agree more.  And something that a lot of submissive men forget is that most dominant women still want to be seduced.  Not necessarily in the blatantly sexual way that most men think of seduction, but the little things: flowers, carrying her heavy bags - just generally being thoughtful - and then turning the lights down low for that slow dance.  Still, all is not lost.  There are one or two of these men still out there.

yea, they just want to bang ya. They dont want to win your heart (this is a generalization, i know there are still a few). Even when they want to win your heart they stopped going through the courtly process when sex became free(er).

I have seen estimates that in the 20th Century more than 100 million people died from war and related state violence. You think society is becoming more violent? By what measure, i wonder? I would suggest we are simply witnessing the virtual impact of new and uncensored technologies. They used to bitch about the "violence" in dime novels, comic books, and "juvenile delinquents." How quaint it all seems now. Society and human nature remain constant. Everything old is new again. Just mho.
