So I just started reading Eats, Shoots and Leaves by Lynne Truss. So far for a book about English grammar and punctuation it's really funny and informational.

Since True Blood is off until next summer, I am reading the Sookie Stackhouse novels. I do have to say though, I enjoyed the show much more.
Hurry up next season!!!

Neal Stephenson is awesome, I loved all of his books.

Just finished Rain Gods by James Lee Burke...it was ok. I've liked his other books better. About to start An Echo in the Bone by Diana Gabaldon.

Well, let's see...

1) Free books every month.
2) If I finish a book, I can download a new one...regardless of where I am.
3) No more packing 5 -7 books for trips or vacations.
4) New hard covers at the bookstore $25-30, but only $9.99 on Kindle.
5) I find it easier to read one handed making it easy to enjoy food or drink at the same time.

It was the perfect gift for me.

I'm on the road a lot and swear by it for travel. I used to haul 3-6 books with me, and that got heavy real fast.

However, it's not good for finding choice selections within a book, unless you've previously marked them.

Here is the Card review for that! A rather interesting read!

It sits there on the shelves, demanding your attention with its yellow cover and vulgar title: Eats, S*, & Leaves: Crap English and How to Use It by "A. Parody."
This book takes off on the title of Eats, Shoots & Leaves, by Lynne Truss, but it's hard to discern its purpose. Truss did a good enough job of guiding people through the thicket of English orthography; what's to make fun of?
And since "Parody's" book also purports to tell us useful and accurate information, though somewhat ribald or coarse at times, and does it with a much snootier attitude, one would expect "Parody" to go to even greater pains to be correct.
One would be disappointed.
Take this bit of advise on usage:
Different from/different than/different to
The Americanisms 'different than' and 'different to' are different from the correct English form 'different from'.

Nope. Most of the classics are free all the time. But, every month they have different selections that are free.

Crypto takes some tenacity, and the baroque books take heaps. Which seems like a joke that he's playing on the reader. Snow crash and zodiac, otoh are very fast reads.

I'm a grad student, so I am reading books mainly for my classes: Research Methods, Totally Wired: What Teens and Tweens are Really Doing Online, and Strategic Marketing for NonProfit Organizations. For my own amusement, I am reading Shamanic Experience. I haven't been linking into my spiritual side nearly enough in the last few months, and it's beginning to wear on me.
