I have a family member who has been a nurse in a childrens cancer ward for more than 20 years. She is a confirmed ateist. There can be no god, as if he had existed he would make her unemployed, is what she often say. I admire her greatly as this must be one of the most mental demanding jobs there exists. But she is happy in the fact, that modern medicine has seen a great shift in her 20 years, towards these kids can increasingly leave the way they came in, in stead of getting rolled out the back door. One of her great things of telling is leukemia, where in the past is was cloose to a death sentence, today it is one of those who has a very high rate of complete recovery.
