My slave and I are getting into the standard sex toys in our play. we have quite a few now and I need a place to store them. I'm a perfectionist and want them neat and clean. so my idea is to use plastic containers from the local store and custom cutting foam to store them in. my question is this. will the foam react negatively to the toys. we have a few different materials. and I'm not sure whats what with that. so any info would be great. thank you for any input.

I would stay away from anything that seals too tightly as the least bit of moisture will allow bacteria to grow... best to find storage within fabric/breathable items...ie: luggage (lots of compartments, portable, etc...) , or think baskets that have ventilation holes....

rubber/plastic is not breathable and can harbor germs no matter how good you've tried to clean them....

the only things I'd be willing to put into nonbreathable containers are dishwasher sterilized items...

"be safe" says the forensic nurse...lol

The important thing isn't so much what you store them in, but make certain that after you clean your toys between use, that they are completely dry when you put them away.

Also, if it's going to be more than a couple days until you use them again, take out the batteries.

I store floggers, paddles, etc., on hooks on the back of my closet. They are made of leather or suede and need that breathability factor.

Rope, chain, cuffs, clamps, etc, are stored in a large duffle with a lot of various sensation toys. Highly personal items like dildos, anal beads, etc are in my night stand.

After toy cleaning I give them a light dusting of cornstarch powder (please don't use talc).

I have a wood chest that I store toys in.

When our kids were still at home and we "hid" basic items like sex toys, I used a pair of old floor speakers. I removed the speakers and faceboard, added shelves, and stored everything inside. The cover kept everything clean and dust free.

Keep away from Foam. It dry rots after a while, and falls all apart. I just store my toys in a plactic under bed storage container. I don't use a lid, since it fits nice and snug, keeping dust out.

I'm lucky enough to have an old 1920s steamer trunk (I see them now and then at antique stores, thrift stores, etc), I've had it for a couple years now, originally purchased at an antique store for 50. It is NOT portable - much too heavy, unless I have two boys to carry it - but with four drawers and a clothes hanging rack it easily stores my few items and has more than adequate space for many more. I always wash my toys thoroughly after use, and I make sure they're totally dry before putting them away. The trunk looks nice, and it locks, which is nice when my nosy little sister stays over...

Don't use foam. It might react with the various rubber materials, like stick to them. I make sure everything is cleaned and dry, then I wrap each one in a paper towel and line a plastic tub that goes in the closet. I use an old towel between layers. Leather items go in a mesh bag. Metal items go in a box. Lubes, condoms and plastic items go into another box.

I love this idea! I've always loved hiding things in plain sight.

However, since I travel to play, I keep my toys in a locking toolbox.

hmm. maybe short capped lengths of pvc pipe to hold each toy?
