When I heard the word inspection in context to a d/s relationship I was led to believe that it is an encounter where the dom inspects the naked sub's body and decides if he wants to keep her or not (much like inspecting a car before you buy).What is your definition of an inspection? Have you had one before and what was it like? What could I expect?
Is it a trial period with a new dom?

I've had a dom say they want to do an 'inspection' which turns out to be me naked and him running his hands all over 'his property', having me bend and take certain positions - sort of a foreplay thing, I suppose.

I had a potential Dom use that term once for something he wanted me to do when we first met. I was to present myself to him naked for an 'inspection' during this meeting. Fat chance.

I understand that it might be part of some type of protocol but when I first meet someone I'll be wanting to see if we match up together personally and I won't be looking to get naked. Interesting too...we met for a short coffee meeting and he was much much heavier than the pictures he sent me and it was a no go from the beginning. I couldn't overlook that he was dishonest in his portrayal of himself to me. Maybe that's why he pushed for the inspection, it was the only way he'd get to see a naked female in RL and he knew it.

That's my understanding.  It can be damn hot too.

Honestly that's what I would expect if a dom I hadn't already met was talking to me about inspections. It sounds hot for foreplay or as part of scene, but till we get to the point of scening and sex, I wouldn't go for it.

As always though... you'll be better off asking them exactly what they mean.

Hello,
My only experiences with inspections are displays of my naked body, put through "paces" of different positions, as well as checks that i am maintaining his property to his expectations.  It is very hot, very humbling, very vulnerable.

I've not been required to expect it at a first meet in person, but it has turned out that way (cause i'm just that easy). It didn't seem to be a kick-the-tires moment, just well, hot and humbling. Two of my favorite things. :-)

I have met him twice, on a non-sexual level, and he keeps texting me that he can't wait to give me an inspection...

I view it as an unveiling of ones flesh. It can be done in a sexual context or more akin to what a physician might do instead. Viewing ones orifices to ascertain the condition and any potential problems. Since the dominant is theoretically responsible for the upkeep of His property it would make sense for Him to discover what He will be maintaining. To loosely use the analogy of a car, it might run well and seem in good condition but you can't be certain until you look under the hood. Each dominant uses the procedure differently and there are a few that don't employ it at all until after a decision has been made. Rather than speculate you should query the individual and ask what it means to Him.

Any girl I meet, this has been part of the "formal greeting" in which they are well aware of in advance.

like you alittleevil, most find it erotic, humbling and quite stimulating, as do I.

Normally we go out for coffee and conversation afterwards.

Well as long as you're ok with it then everything is fine. If you have any reservations you don't have to do it, no one can make you do a thing that you don't want to at this stage of the game. Until you submit and accept someone as your Dom you can judge for yourself what happens and what doesn't.

I suppose you have to ask yourself whether you're ready to get naked with this guy and move it to the physical level, then, because it sounds like he's more than ready.

Tell him that as long as he's cool with a possible countersurprise in which you refuse, you'll do it.

I like the idea of him surprising you, but does he have a Plan B if you refuse?

Someone actually tried that line? they are getting dumber by the day. If he/she is so concerned about your physical attributes he/she has to see you naked. turn and walk away unless you have reached that level of intimacy

but the problem is he won;t tell me what he is going to do to me, because he wants it to be a surprise--I am not budging no matter how ready he is. I def. haven't even accepted him as my dom yet!

I don't care about being naked..it's more or else jumping into a situation that I am unsure of, and frustrated because he won;t tell me or give me details.
