Oh, thank god. I was worried when I saw the OP; I assumed there was some crisis in his life or something. Thank you for letting us know that's not the case.

Good for him if he thinks that's the right thing to do. He's a good man, and I'll miss him. But if this isn't the path that he thinks is leading him to happiness, then he's got to find a different path. I hope he finds the path he's looking for, and that - just maybe - it someday leads him back here.

Yeah, this thread's not all bad - we lost Steel, but we've apparently gained a green llama smiley. Not necessarily an even trade, but at least we didn't get totally skunked.

Exactly. When people I like  just disappear for no apparent reason, I worry about them. Even if it is only the internetz - they're still people, and i still care about what happens to them. I don't need to know any details about why they're leaving, but just knowing it was something they did by choice gives me peace of mind.
