By the same logic, GITMO is an urban legend.

At the risk of promoting a long rambling response...I'm moved to ask just what logic is that?

Change we can imagine!

But seriously, if people haven't woken up by now, they may not have the opportunity. It's nice to see so many people finally coming to their senses lately, but for most I think it's too late. Sad. :(

Its not too late. I still have faith in the hunger for power of most Congressmen, and despite their public protestations to the contrary, they know their jobs are on the line if they pass the manure that is masquerading as "progress"

It's the same logic that's been employed by the conservatives since day one of the Obama administration. It's the logic that says "The only way back into power is to come up with actual ideas that have a possibility of making things better or to lie, sabotage, obstruct and generally make the people with ideas look bad. The conservatives have no ideas that have a possibility of making things better. Therefore, the conservatives will lie, sabotage, obstruct and generally try to make the people with ideas look bad"

Seems like simple enough logic to me.

That would be something more than whining if since day one of the Obama Administration something positive was accomplished.

GITMO closed immediately - NO!
Giving the commanders in Afghanistan the troops they've requested - NO!
The stimulus will generate jobs and unemployment will not exceed 8.5% - NO!
Self funding and supporting Health Care Plan - NO!
Proper vetting of high visibility positions - NO!
Transparency - NO!
Appeal for bi-partisan support - NO!
Nationalization of GM saving plant closings - NO!
Nationalization of Chrysler completing the 'electric car project - NO!

Considering the qualitative perspective:

Global support for the Administration's actions and indicatives - NO!
Leadership and confidence coming from the Administration - NO!

So exactly what obstruction did the 'conservatives' (who are they BTW) put in place that cause these results for the Administration's actions?

A way to get back in power? Results provide that; pointed to blame a party out of power is an excuse, not even a good rationalization, for the failure to date.

All faiths must have a devil to blame for their god's failure. No devil has been as pragmatically weak, without the ability to maintain a filibuster, as the Republican/conservatives and given as much power.

The alternative and other answer for the results to date seem obvious and clear - the ideas suck and the 'plan' isn't focused and detailed undeserving of any support except the special interests who would benefit from its implementation. But that would be heresy.
