ORIGINAL: Steponme73 I had a heart attack this past Tuesday morning. If had not been that I was given 2 asprin immediately, the Doctor said I would never have made it to the hospital. So a word to all of you out there... Carry Asprin with you wherever you are, you never know when you or some one around you will need it to save their lives... First...so very glad you are here to say this. Take care of yourself. A heart attack survived should be one hell of a wake-up call. Some people want to crush them, thinking they will work faster. Don't do it!! You want to take the aspirin to save your life, not choke you. And an aspirin in an emergency needs to be a non-enteric coated tablet. The enteric coating will save the stomach by dissolving in the intestine. Nice for every day use, but if you are having a cardiac crisis, do you really care you might get gas? Everyone over 40, or with a lifestyle less than ideal, high cholesterol level, etc., should take to their PCP about taking either a baby aspirin (81mg) or an adult aspirin (325mg??) everyday.
