How many more totally incompetent Obama appointees will it take before a majority of people finally admit to themselves that the bigger danger here by FAR has to be the incompetence of the Chief Executive who hand selected them.

This is like watching a slow motion train wreck! William Holder proved on Wednsday in front of the Senate and the entire nation that he's not up to his job, and yet he's the one who is going to be in charge of trying the 9/11 terrorists?

Can this administration get any more bizarre?

What, they're not even as competent as the failed horse breeder Bush put in charge of the FDA shortly before New Orleans was flooded?

Do you two ever come up with and answer that doesn't involve "well Bush did it first"?

I might consider making the effort if you people ever changed your own records occasionally.

The past, is important in that it is the past, gone, finished, and those that were important at the time no longer are, instead of harping on about a recent past, a bit like a dog chasing it's tail, we should note the failures and make sure they don't happen again.

Who is in power now, they have history to draw on, what worked, and what didn't, it is their duty to move forwards, not spin on the spot, as spinning on the spot gets no one nowhere and for the powerful, the person in charge, they have their subjects to consider first and foremost.

Well, you didn't blame Bush this time, but your still singing the same basic song. I guess that pretty much answered my question.

Add in Geithner who was pummeled by the Senate yesterday (this morning?) and asked to resign.

Sure it can, they can reinstate the old one. I am amazed ( okay I`m not ) that you guys are all quick to blame Obama for not providing a quick fix, yet give Bush a free pass for causing the crisis in the first place.

You fail to see that the problem was caused by Bush and left to fester by Bush. Thankfully a few posters such as the two you attack can see the truth.

How did Bush cause the crisis of trying to try Enemy Combatants as common criminals? Such a thing has never been done before. This crisis is caused by Obama catering to the ignorant left.

Its Bush's fault now that Obama appointed William Holder as Attorney General? Is that your point? Because the issue I raised was Holder's utter incompetence as displayed in the Senate hearing he appeared at Wednesday, and as evidenced by the testimony he gave at that hearing (excerpts of which was posted above).

How you managed to wrap that around Bush is amazing.

The "Senate"en masse pummeled Geithner...and asked him to resign?
This is earth shattering news and a prime example of bipartisan governance....thank you willbeur for bringing this to our attention.

Dateline: New York City - The trial of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (Someday in the future)
"In the Criminal Justice System the people are represented by two separate, yet equally important groups. The police who investigate crime and the District Attorneys who prosecute the offenders. These are their stories."

Law & Order (Opening Theme)

The indictment hearing...

Fade into a TV Screen showing an interview with President Barrack Obama:

NBC: Khalid Sheikh Mohammed - can you understand why it is offensive to some for this terrorist to get all the legal privileges of any American citizen? Obama: I don't think it will be offensive at all when he's convicted and when the death penalty is applied to him.
NBC: But having that kind of confidence of a conviction - I mean one of the purposes of doing - going to the Justice Department and not military court is to show of the the world our fairness in our court system.
Obama: Well -

Defense Attorney: Your Honor, the President of the US declares my client guilty and deserving of execution. The possibility of a fair trial in any jurisdiction of the US is impossible. I move for dismissal."

Judge: So ordered! (Gavel sound)

Law & Order (Closing Theme)

I especially liked his backpedaling after he was challenged on it:

"Obama: I don't think it will be offensive at all when he is convicted, and when the death penalty is applied to him.

Todd (aside): Pressed on whether he was prejudging a verdict, the former constitutional law professor expressed confidence in the government's case.

Obama: What I said was that people will not be offended if that's the outcome. I'm not prejudging, and I'm not going to be in that courtroom. That's the job of the prosecutors, the judge and the jury."

No, moron, thats not what you said all of 5 seconds before....twice. Even the TOTUS laughed at him.

I do not find it ignorant that I believe there is a value in not throwing away a system of law and justice because it is convenient. I have noted the way terrorists have taken the place of drug dealers in the "conservative's list of reasons we should throw out due process and checks on our police/military and it makes me nearly as uncomfortable as the terrorists themselves. Once again, we are not putting Kalid on trial for Kalid's sake. We are putting Kalid on trial because once you say the governement can start commitng atrocities to the rule of law in the name of "they had it coming" you are on a slippery slope to law by the gun and justice by the rope.

Unfortunately, they can't try somebody who isn't a member of an armed force and who was abducted off the street of a city where there wasn't a war going on by spooks under a military court, so if they can't make a federal case stick (and hasn't it been suggested that the only reason they're trying KSM in the first place is because he wants to be martyred and so they're hoping he will plead guilty and save a lot of time?) they're fucked.

I think it will take at least one more than in any republican administration ever, before people will realize that some rubicon has been crossed, and therefore should call themselves to action.

How many more of you are going to repeat this nonsense. Many of those at Gitmo are not enemy combatants, but people kidnapped of the streets due to hearsay or rewards or personal vendettas. Which system do you suggest they get tried under ?

I am still waiting for someone to answer this in a logical and reasonable way. I wont hold my breath though.
