Hello All,

I just was checking a full profile and noticed a button labeled "E-mail Profile."  With all of the threads about how I man should first make contact with a Mistress, I was wondering what value this feature might have.  Then it hit me, why not "Ask-A-Mistress!"

I put a lot of thought into my profile.  I tried to make it informational and entertaining.  I also tried to keep from presenting a 'shopping list' of likes, kinks, and dis-likes.

I prefer to write an original message the first time to make a personal connection; but, if I used all of Lady Angelika's 10 points...  Well...  Tolstoy I am not.  It takes me forever to write something  sometimes.

Respectfully,
Mike

Honestly, I get irritated when I get someone's profile as a first e-mail. I read profiles anyway - I want something in a first e-mail that goes a bit beyond the profile ... something that shows that he read our profile and something in it interested him - or that we have something in common ... when I read an e-mail and then discover that they just sent me their profile, I'm done with him. I want someone who can put a bit more thought into their communication.

I never noticed that before... so I hit the send email on your profile SnowRanger... it took me lower on the page to send you an email. Since there was nothing there but the curser... I figured it didn't mean it sent the actual profile. Did you try it? I didn't. lol

I am with SweetDommes; I hate getting a profile in email! A dominant sent me his profile once... after I asked him a question to a first email that didn't impress me much and no way did I want to read his profile. I just wanted to understand why he thought I might submit. So sending his profile wasn't bright. Other's have sent their profile and I felt it was a lazy way to get my attention and had nothing personal in it and of course responded to nothing about my profile or journal. I don't read theirs if they don't read mine first, unless I make the first contact. lol

I want personal... without getting toooooo personal! lol

Hello Ms's Karen and Holly,  thanks for the response.  As I said above, I try to make a personal connection, 'I see that we both like chain saw maintenance... Husquvarna or Stihl?  Sometimes I ask about an item listed in Dis-likes,  'You hate gas masks, Why?'.  The upswing is that if I didn't connect with something in your profile.   OUCH!  1981 to 1971!  Ouch.

No Ms Lockit,  I didn't try it.  I wanted to ask a mistress first!  Besides Who would I send it to?   Mike

Whoa Nelly!  Ms Lockit, your profile just showed up in the mail account that I used when I signed up (which will remain nameless).

Well, mike, let's try a little experiment.  I was actually thinking if you could combine both, the personal message and profile, that would be a good solution.

If it's an either/or deal, I'd rather have the personal message.

The thing is, if I want to see a boy's profile, I can. I just have to click on his alias and tada! Profile.

The message doesn't have to be long. That post that I wrote with MaitresseEden over 5 years ago missed that point. (And it also has spelling mistakes, which erks me!!)

I just has to be honest, sincere and personalised. It also needs to not be too sexual, unless of course the Domme mentions in her profile that she wants it to be.

Remember, before being these "oh-so-breathtaking-Dommes", we are first and foremost women.

SnowRanger, the "email profile" feature will email the current profile that you're viewing, to whatever account you signed onto collarme with.

Wow... so I sent out my profile without realizing I actually did it! Does that make me a troll? Or worse... an ignorant troll because I didn't know what I was doing?

I wouldn't go with the 'send profile' feature, Snow.  They can click on your nick and look at it.  For what it's worth - from what you've said on here, I think you do the right things in those first messages.

No.  You have to be bigger.

Yeah, sorry ... we just can't wrap our minds around a relationship with someone old enough to be father to either of us (and I believe you are actually older than Holly's father ...). Then there is the fact that we just don't have much in common with someone too much older or younger than we are ...

I think sending a copy of the profile would be rather redundant. I can read it easily enough without getting it sent to me.

Most of the people that send me a serious "I am interested" email, I am going to look at their profile.

Yes, this is a bit of a thread revival...I know.  I was reminded of this thread when I checked my inbox today.

Funny thing, I recieved a rather long email from a male sub with more information than I care to have in a first email.  When I went to look for his profile, I discovered it was listed as "inactive".   I brought this to the attention of the sender who proceeded to explain he had already stated in the first email that he was experiencing problems with his profile, which he felt I wasn't able to understand...bless him. I had read this in the first sentence of his original email but sent my reply with a question of why...why send a write-up from an inactive profile when he could just as easily create a new one.

This isn't the first time I've recieved this particular email from this person...classic copy and paste.
I'm curious if anyone else would reply to such an email.  If a person has an inactive profile but sends the text of said profile as an introductory email...would you reply?

Personally, I wasn't impressed.  I did give him the benefit of the doubt, though.

To the latter..
I've always left these kind of messages on their merry way..... I don't care whether they have an inactive profile or not...I just don't want somebodies profile in my mailbox.

The former thing...errrrrrr lame.

Honestly, it would depend on the length of the text.  I do know there is at least one out there who has an inactive profile, but does have it saved if someone should like to read it.  When I asked that person for it, he was able to provide it.  If it would have been sent without My asking, I'm not sure I would have felt the same way about it.  Then again, had I asked and it couldn't be provided, I don't think I would have been thrilled about that either.

I don't know whether to laugh or... or... LAUGH....  What do you mean that we don't have any thing in common?  I've lived through evey major event in the world that you have.  Seriously, there is something to be said for exchanging power with a peer.  Good luck Ms. Karen
