I have yet to hear from another submissive or slave who experiences sub space as deeply as I do; Nor do I exactly understand it. I have been told endorphins are simply causing a heightened state of Euphoria, though it feels like something more is going on than a simple chemical release. When I first start to slip into sub space, things become distorted. I can look out over the sheets (for example) to the wall and become fixed on everything and nothing at the same time. Sounds become distant, my breathing sounds almost defeaning, almost an echo.. as I struggle to stay, struggle to hear the voice.. my mind leaves me with two choices: "Fight" or "Surrender". If I choose to fight, I wont enter full blown sub space, I will just be left disoriented and loopy. If I choose "Surrender", lights out. (Not literally, keep reading.) From that point forward I can't conciously remember anything that transpires. I can remember little 'snippets' of memory or scenes if you will, 2-3 second 'film cuts'. Though I know that I am acting of my own free will (moving, kneeling, getting into a position that was ordered of me.) So I am THERE, I am just... NOT, there.. at all.. Is this really just endorphins creating a heightened state of euphoria or is this something much more.. it is almost as if my sub concious takes over my concious state, and takes control of my motor functions..left with only primal responses.

Why did you post that here? do you think there must be so many Masters who can tell you all the ins and outs about subspace?

I did not ask the question for the Masters who could not answer, but for the few who can.

as subspace is something mainly considered to be experienced by subs... would you not think subs might have more info about it than Masters do? ETA what happens that makes you start to slip away? ...i do not really get there, i do experience a lovely relaxing sexy trance type of feeling but i don't dissapear or start flying over the mountains... i would be interested to hear what it is that makes you 'slip away'

I refer to that as Deep Space 9. Yes I'm a Trekkie, go laugh. And I get snippets of pictures as though it were dark and I only see stuff when fireworks go off and give a little light. I do find over the next week more bits come back. In the beginning it was a little disorienting, I never knew if I was remembering real stuff but checking with him has proved they are real memories, just late in being accessed. Intense play uses, and used up, tons of chemicals that affect the body and the brain. It makes sense that some of these chemicals also interfere with memory storage. Actually from the fact that I do remember stuff as time goes on it is more likely that it is the lack of the biochemicals that is preventing me from accessing memory and that as the biochemicals are built back up over the next few days, things do come back. Oh and rule of thumb # 412, any time you ask "Am I the only one", the answer is no. We are not abnormal in any one way, we simply may be outliers on the bell curve. Out damned typo

Well I am not a master but as a sub I can tell you it is not so unusual. What makes you think you are special in that regard? As far as getting into subspace I don't know many masters that could tell you they have been there. You would have been better off asking people who have had the experience. In this case "masters" do not know best.

dvntsprite, hi and welcome to the message boards. 1st let me say i'm sorry you got such snippy responses to a perfectly reasonable question. Its unfortunate, but it does happen, being the internet and all. Subspace was different for me practically every time i experienced it. It doesn't sound like you are having problems so just relax and enjoy the ride.

I always find it amusing that straight up answers are thought of as snippy, especially when the response makes sense. Guess you gotta wear a master tag to reach the right audience.

In response to the responses where I have been called out on asking that question here; That Master's will not know the question Perhaps I have been mistaken that true Master's take the time to understand what happens to their submissive/slave. If the Master can not understand what is happening with His then that worries me. I should hope that a Master has invested enough time in this Lifestyle to find out -why- things happen the way that they do, to be able to explain it to his submissive/slave if she were to ask Him how and why she experienced what she did. Is he just going to come up with some cock-a-mee-mee story to make it sound good? Or is he going to do his best to give her factual information? I suppose, all the Master's here can reply with "It's a chemical reponse" or "I don't know." I'm a curious kitten of how humans react the way that they do to certain situations. I am glad however that there are others out there who experience it as deeply as I do. That was comforting information. I am saddened that there are those who merely wish to flame others who pose a valid question if they can not answer it themselves. Nonetheless, thank you for the responses and I appreciate your time no matter how spent. sprite~

I'm hoping I didn't understand what I just read. However; let me say this. I don't need to know the hf/vhf frequencies, nor the purpose of every transistor and diode in every TV set to turn the fuckin' thing on, and watch spongbob square pants when I want to. I'm not a Master. I don't expect my Master to understand subspace. Why would he?? He's not a sub or slave. I don't understand Domspace. I'm not a Dom. So this idea that He should know what you're going through is just a little bit funny to me. Now as for your question about subspace. Yup..been there done that. It just all depends on how deep I have been taken.

That's a very good description of how I feel when I go deeply into subspace. Like a dissociative state.

Also not a Master, however, like others, thought i'd share my experience - i'm one of those who also goes very deep - my "dark places", i call them. It is like tunnel vision, and the only presence i sense is his voice, and to some extent his eyes, seeing him looking at me with intensity, and everything else just fades into pure detached (yummy) sensation. In regards to a Master knowing "why" something happens to me, i don't expect that, as he isn't me, and truly it is a combination of chemicals, i.e. endorphins, sensations, and so on. What i do look for in a Master that i serve is that he takes the time to understand just that it is going on, and then decides what he can use it for, and how i can serve him with it. But as far as expecting him to understand the "why" of it, or him teaching me about it, i don't have that - it's so much easier and nice (and my place) to let go and enjoy the ride, wherever he takes me with it..... hope this helps, julie (who is currently under consideration so she doesn't have a profile [:)])

There's stuff he cannot understand because he doesn't experience it as I do. Me biting his neck hard would not make him weak at the knees and gooey with lust. It does to me though. However although he can tell you that I do this, he can't explain why. Actually for a true explanation we would need a medical researcher. We're all just guessing as to the cause. And as a 'twue sub' I have asked, and read, what do doms get out of it. From my point of view, he has all the hard work and I wouldn't think blow jobs on demand is sufficient recompense. I have concluded I never will understand, but I accept that what he gets back is more than enough for him. And in the end, that's all that matters.

fr Then there's that whole space/time warp where you would swear the Man Beast was beating on you for about 20 mins and it turns out that three hours have actually passed. When I'm in that zone, I, typically, am losing about 2 - 3 hours of cog time. Way cool. :)
