http://www.channel4.com/programmes/dispatches/episode-guide/series-42/episode-1 Oh dear - now this will set the cat amongst the pigeons; Dispatches tonight did something apparently very risky - or at least it always proves risky for the Guardian newspaper and the BBC when they report on Israel and its policies - it reported on the influence of right wing Zionist groups in influencing British government through political donations and their campaigns of "anti-semitism" complaints aimed at limiting the freedom of the press whenever Israel does something questionable. Interestingly, most British Jews seem to think the activities of these Zionist groups to be wrong headed - but then they are denounced as "self hating Jews" apparently. More interestingly, as much of this effort against the terrible nazi media of the UK (which strangely is otherwise described as far too liberal by others), is directed from the US as it is from Israel itself, funded by wealthy Jewish backers with whom ordinary Jews likely have little in common, and as noted, disagree. I wonder whether Channel 4 will get away with this? If they dont then it kinda proves the point...... But more, I wonder whether those perpetrating this undue influence realise that most people (Jews included) can after all tell right from wrong? Let the barbeque begin E

If this had been posted by someone in who doesnt decry all lobbying then indeed they are rightfully labeled as anti-semitic.

It's been said that prohibiting lobbying would be unconstitutional. OK, but the Constitution does not apply to foreigners. T

T There is no prohibition against foreign lobbysists. The op was talking about the UK, I was drawing a parallel to the current state of affairs in the US, where similar claims have been made about Jewish influence.

Well thats certainly an interesting slant....but doesn't begin to explain how a xenophobe such as himself can be so clueless concerning his "own" Constitution.It simply boggles the mind...and if these fora are any indication he is not alone. But don't sigh Kittin....yanno I love you :)

First of all, to the usuals who oppose me in any related matters, it is clear to me that we are never going to agree on these things. If you are going to bring out the spiel on every related thread, expect me to do the same. You think I am a bigot, well I submit that you are a bigot. There shall be no criticism of certain people anywhere, for any reason. No matter what they've done. That is bigotry to the nth degree. But I accept it. Lobbying is lobbying. This however is something quite different, as is demonstrated should the scenaro be imagined whereby UK goverment policy and the freedom of the media were subject to influence from North Korean interests, such that government made no criticism of that state and the media were obliged to not report the issues but rather to stress the positives of the North Korean regime. E
