We all do it to SOME degree. Life is FULL of compromises, no matter what side of the kneel you are on. my Grandma told me once,... "Candy, a woman will trade quite a bit for security. If the price becomes to high, you just go live with one of your kids." LOL ok, so that was Grandma....  i understand what she meant.

This is one of those things thats not easy to talk about for me. Because then you are saying its not "perfect" LOL(yes i know perfection is ever elusive).

Procrastination,  Not very "romantic" when you GUSH for the stuff,  A slob,  Won't put the cap on the tube, even if ALL OF MAN KIND DEPENDED ON IT!!(ok that one MIGHT be a pet peeve, just sayin)   Terrible about returning calls.....etc.....

We've all heard "You can't have everything." So i'm asking..... what don't you have in your currant situation? You know, the thing that "would be nice" but its not a deal breaker that its not there.

It's hard to put this into words that accurately describes our situation. Valyraen isn't exactly thoughtless but he forgets things. Things like... my birthday. Or that he promised he wouldn't install any software or make changes to my computer without letting me know and explain (I'm a geek - breaking my computer is a hard fucking limit). Or to scoop the catbox so the cats decide to pee on my favorite and most expensive boots to let me know there is an issue.

These things drive me crazy, they really do. But the trade is that I get a man who randomly nuzzles my neck and makes me laugh mutiple times every day, puts up with my sorry ass () and honestly loves me. It's more than a fair trade. Even if it leaves me in a corner chanting "Sir may not be right but he's never wrong. Sir may not be right but he's never wrong. Sir may not be right but he's never wrong..." sometimes.

I almost feel like I'm about to repeat Myself.  I probably am.

My boy isn't Mine full time.  In fact, he's not even in the same country right now.  I knew this was part of the deal when I took him.

On the other side of the site, I get asked about this a lot, especially when it comes to My policy of not wanting someone else long distance.  Often, the question are something like this.  "Why not?  You already have one who isn't physically there?  Why can't we connect like that?"  Well, the answers are kind of simple.  Because they aren't him and I'm not invested in someone else the same way.  I'm willing to tolerate the separations because of the person that *he* is and the investment that has already been made in all of this.

Yes, it is a trade of sorts, but that doesn't negate the fact that clip wears My collar because he's the best fit for it.  I can't imagine it ever fitting better on someone else.

What I'm hearing is that D men are really just men, but with a very welcome twist.    On the other hand, I'm not exactly all that great at putting the cap back on the toothpaste myself.

I have absolutely no business posting here, as I'm not in any sort of relationship, D/s or otherwise, and I honestly like living with just my cats.  But I couldn't resist the chance to add a snarky observation.

Thats SO right-on!....i was JUST talking about this with my sister, and my daughter(28) in two separate conversations. We three agreed that, unless and until a woman discovers that men just ARE different than we are,(they process info differently, they are just wonderfully different then women) and try to learn about those differences, instead of fighting those differences, she will be a pretty frustrated bitch for quite some time. i realize others may view it differently...

absolutely nothing.

there have been no compromises...no trades...this slave doesn't suffer at the hands of someone who doesn't put the cap back on the tube or some other annoying habit.

this slave has nothing to complain about...which is why she doesn't.

It would be nice if he didn't have cancer, but he does. Since life is better with him with cancer, than without, i deal with it(not him).

He fulfills all of the things I need to be happy and then some. I walked away from a marriage in order to be with him. I'd be the stupidest person on this planet if I did that for someone who doesn't float my boat on every single level. I can have everything. I have the best bdsm relationship and the best vanilla relationship all rolled up in one. Life is good.

edited to add...he never puts the cap on the toothpaste either. I walk in, see that, laugh and put the cap on. It takes all of ten seconds of my day.

My husband is unapologetically fat, has bad knees, and is severely ADD.

But he makes me laugh, he's been very gracious and tolerant of my illness over the last twelve years but is also willing to celebrate with me as I find ways to cope, and he is also the guy who I can count on unfailingly for support.
