Howdy!

I don't post very much on these boards even though I read them all the time, it's my shyness (and tendancy to ramble..) that gets me. ^^; But I have an interesting vacation coming up and I'd like to ask all you other subs and slaves for any suggestions you could offer me.

A little background. I'm collared to two absolutely wonderous Owners, a male Dom and a female sub who is most definitely Alpha to me. I recently took a trip to visit Them, which was a very enjoyable occasion. The general attitude was of a relaxed vacation, sort of getting-to-know the area, the intracies of their home, lifestyle, and relations in that city, and of course just spending blissful time with Them.

Now we have planned for another trip to visit in the coming month, and what I'd really like to do this time is focus on tuning my servitude towards Them. I would like to show Them the best of my abilities, and try to be as pleasing as possible on all fronts; ideally, even impressive.

I have thought of a few things to do beforehand, like selecting several healthy, delicious recipes from knowledge of Their tastes to cook and serve while I am there, as well as practicing my techniques on massage to relax sore muscles after a hearty session at the gym and provide leisurely footrubs to tired soles.

I want to avoid the puppy syndrome, sitting and wagging my tail with big eyes waiting for the next order to fetch this or that, by having pleasent activities previously prepared to fit into blank time. My goal is to be a good sub, not just be, biding time for orders. As I understand it, there is a fine, curvacious line between too little and too much that I need to sniff out and pad upon.

I am curious as to any other suggestions anyone may offer. If you were in this situation, what would you do for your Master/Mistress? Do you think this planning may be too much? If there happen to be any Doms browsing this board, what do you think of this, what would you have your subs do?

Any and all input is welcome, thank you kindly for your time! ^_^

Obviously you need to communicate with them. What are they looking for? What chores and odd jobs could they use an extra pair of hands for? What are you very good at?

In my situation we're usually too busy to have long stretches to actually think and plan out service. If we've got a few hours to hang around the house, we either just relax together or we all get busy cleaning and organizing. The more hands doing work, the quicker the work goes and the more time to relax or get on the road to the next event.

Long term plans can involve planning going to the grocery store together so you can get to know what foods and shopping styles work best, re-organizing and databasing a CD and DVD collection, steam cleaning and painting the house, replaning the garden and whatnot. Projects that everyone can do together can be much fun.

I would suggest that you be cautious about overplanning, because then you could be setting yourself up for dissapointment if things don't fall in line with your plans. I think the idea of finding new meals that they may enjoy is a good idea - I would suggest trying out cooking the meals before you see them so you know how they taste and that the meals work well (and also so again you don't feel horribly stressed and like everything must fall in line perfectly).

The visit will be happening around spring - what about doing a top to bottom spring cleaning and organizing for them? I'm sure that would be greatly appreciated - just be careful about heavy cleaner odors in their place (theres plenty of odorless or odor free and "all natural" types of cleaning products out there that can help with that).

C~

Thank you both for your replies!

LA, I will try to communicate better an ask them what various things they could use my assistance in. Mostly these ideas are for when they can't think of anything to assign me to, or would rather I choose something. You bring up very valid points about the cleaning and general home repair.

WF, I have thought about the cons of overplanning. Thank you for your suggestion of caution. I'm trying to prevent dissapointment by making all of my plans entirely optional, free-moment things that can be implimented if/when appropriate... little happy surprises! The reason I've started in such advance is as you suggest; to try cooking some of these recipes to know if I can handle them. I'm not a very skilled cook, and even though the few I've chosen already seem in alignment with my skill level I would like to make sure they come out well. Again, the cleaning idea seems wonderful.. especially the tip about odourless cleaning products!

From a Dominant perspective, some things to think about:

1. Who sets the pace of the relationship/s?
2. Are you serving to really please yourself or your Domme/s by taking the initiative?
3. What would happen if you waited in this instance at the expense of seeming pushy?
4. Did you ever consider asking what were their expectations for the next visit?
5. What would you do if you were asked to serve them in a way you disliked but didnt compromise your limits?

Just a few questions I ponder as to the motivations of a sub especially if the relationship is a new one and sometimes ask directly. Also, Ive used questions like this to help a sub differentiate between needs and wants. I also ask, "If you dont get this, will it negatively affect you physically, mentally, emotionally, pyschology, spiritually? If the answer is no, then it is my responsibility to attend to their needs and satisfy their wants when my pleasure dictates, not theirs.

In short, a sub must ask herself what motivates her service. The need to please the Dominant or oneself in the service.

Just sharing some on my ideas on the topic. Take them for what theyre worth to you and throw the rest aside.

Ask Him, respectfully. explain this slave's desire and ask for SPECIFIC things to focus on that would be pleasing to Him.

without any input from Master, yes. this slave would NOT go about asking strangers for ideas on how to please someone they don't know.

Oooh, thank you again for further replies. :)

After I posted most recently, I decided that it would indeed be prudent to go up and ask both my Owners about these sorts of things. It gave them a good idea of what I was up to with my itty bitty plans, and more wonderful ideas for custom-tailored (so to speak) activities that they would truely enjoy.

LBO, those are good questions you put forth. I have considered each one. As a whole, these actions are to please my Owners entirely. This is the goal of my next visit. I feel that last time, as relaxed and enjoyable as it was, I did not do enough to show Them how much I really cared. I was being a little selfish for attention without giving enough properly in return. This is what I wanted to rectify.

MnB, I'm sorry if I seem out of line. I have asked about specific things since the start of this post. I feel a bit tentive about asking for further suggestions.. I was only looking for cute things that neither my Owners or I have thought to do.
