Wonderful, brilliant billboard... and so true.
The comments are, wow. Ignorant sheep comes to mind. Wow.

EDIT: The link calls it a "GOP billboard". What does that have to do with politics? That's just common sense and reality. Why make it partisan?

Thanks Normal.

I was surprised too by how partisan the write up was.   We have had continuity of government thru out this last change of the party.  Most the same policies...

Actually, the link mentions that the Lafyette County republican website is featuring this billboard on it's website, without any mention that they think that it might be a bad idea to encourage armed revolution.

If the GOP and it's supporters want to be treated less like raving wingnuts, perhaps they should stop acting so much like raving wingnuts.

Spinner, I really don't think the GOP sponsored that billboard. Sounds to me like it was just an intelligent and concerned patriot. Why are you Americans SO focused on the two party system? The rest of the world is laughing at you, I'm afraid. It just doesn't make sense, but you're acting like politics is some kind of sport. Who's winning? Which side are you on? Who made the most mistakes? Fuck that! You're going to hell in a handbasket and you think you're playing a sports game. Sick, sick, sick!

No one said the GOP sponsored it. What I and the article in the original said was that the Lafayette repbulican party thought it was a good enough idea to feature it on their website.

As for a multiple party system, I'd love it. But I'd be happy if the GOP just managed to come in from the land of hyper-conservative, anti-civil liberty, far christian right ledge they've perched on in order to give the country some degree of choice.

I like the "starve the beast" quote.  That's what some of the fundamentalist Mormon polygamous communities do - by signing up the sister wives as single mothers and claiming AFDC, etc.  They know it's an abuse of the system and call it "starving the beast".

Arnold is my buddy. I don't think he should be governor, but some things were pretty cool.

OK, you know I would never go for that especially if the dealer has good shit. But do I have the right to say that in public ?

Now if we were to analyse the situation up comes the First Amendment. Now it has come clear that the document is intended to limit the power of government. If we take it that way and abide by the Constitution, the Second Amendment says what it says, making gun control laws moot. If you don't like it too bad.

Since the original intenty of the document is established, that establishes a context. In that context my conclusion is that such speech is protected, for the exact reason it was intended. We have the right to alter or abolish this government and there is no way to do that without the support of the masses. In fact without some sort of a majority it would not only fail, but would not really be moral.

However how would one get the support of the masses for We The People to exercise this right ? In that light, I would say the billboard is fully and completely Constitutionally protected.

If we are to live within the law, at the base of which is the Constitution then there is no picking and choosing. You can't take certain parts to heart and disregard others. Actually shit like that is what got us into this mess.

So are you prepared for the revolution ?

Freedom of speech...does it not cover all? It's a bitch when distasteful and against your personal beliefs...but thank heavens there is the Freedom to not listen. That is the case for all but a few fanatics in Missouri.

I look at it this way...I'm glad anyone with any belief can spend any amount of money and fill a bill board with any foolishness they please, within reason and law. Lots of places in this world where that could not happen.

You can see this exercise of the Constitution in Missouri or Utah or Texas or hell Massachusetts. There are fanatic Republicans, Democrats, and Independents in every state. But only the few fanatics themselves believe this rhetoric represents anything near the majority let alone their neighbors.

These are Dick Armeys’ people and from what I have seen of them on YouTube they are ill informed. They are easy to manipulate in order for Dick Armey to use them to get what he wants for his corporate friends who want to kill health-care reform even though Dick Armey benefits himself on a government health-care plan because of his years as a congressman, what a hypocrite!

They have also been called teabagers. Actually, I think they called themselves that name because it had to do with the American Revolution when Americans got mad at the British and dumped the tea in the Boston Harbor if I remember my history. And of course that's what started the American Revolution against the British.

If Bush and Cheney and Dick Armey want to be right wing free enterprise capitalist freaks then why don't they get their health care from the private sector or are they really sell out socialist communists? They are millionaires but they want Americans to pay for free government healthcare for them while the uninsured get sick and rot and suffer, despicable hypocrites who only want to screw poor people, compassionate conservatives, my ass.

I have to agree that the whole world is laughing at us. The liberals have turned us into the laughing stock of the world. We promoted globalism, capitalism, liberty, and democracy as the answer to the world's problems, and now it's quite obvious that voters are so brainwashed by the politically correct media they don't even understand that they just voted in the last presidential election to go down the same path as the rest of the world. By the way, socialism and Europe and in Canada would have already failed just like Communism did if it were not for us subsidizing Europe with military bases and trade, and Canada with Trade.

The Patriot Act is obviously unconstitutional since everyone is being monitored without probable cause, not just terrorists. Hell, we can't even control our own immigration policies, and the U.N. and the WTO is basically telling us what to do. This is insane.
