Oh Lushy..I just read this. I was on a plane all day yesterday and couldn't sign on till today. If there is ANYTHING that I can do for you and your family, call me (My phone is pretty messed up at the moment, but if you leave a voicemail, I will get it).

I am so happy that you were able to be by her side when she needed you the most. I know that the pain you are feeling right now may seem unbearable, but know that as we say goodbye to those who leave us, there are those who are saying hello to her and welcoming her to a peaceful painfree place. You are one of the strongest women I know and I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers as the days pass. She is always with you, in your heart, and in that sense, she can never be gone from you.

I am so sorry to hear about your mother Lushy. If there is anything I can do, let me know. I am glad that you were able to be with her when she needed you. If she loves cats, I know my Pookie is keeping her company right now. I will be keeping you and your family in my thoughts, stay strong, and remember all the good memories you two shared.

Losing your Mother leaves a hole like no other loss. I am so sorry, Honey. I know how strong you've been, and that you've been there for her through all her illness. All I can offer is that her suffering is over and with time, lots of time, that gaping hole in your heart will begin to heal over with happy memories and fond recollections.

You are so loved. And know there are so many praying for you right now.

Many, many hugs and condolences on your loss from both Master and me.

Perhaps those of you who are interested in saying a prayer might like to use the Mourners' Kaddish. While I'm not Jewish, lushy is (thank you for the reminder hejira). It is a stunningly beautiful prayer - both in Hebrew and English.

MOURNER'S KADDISH
An English Translation
Glorified and sanctified be God's great name throughout the world which He has created according to His will. May He establish His kingdom in your lifetime and during your days, and within the life of the entire House of Israel, speedily and soon; and say, Amen.

May His great name be blessed forever and to all eternity.

In the passed year my family has been through much. We all questioned at one time or another if there is a God. How could there be a God? How could God take such a vibrant alive healthy woman and take her from us in such a way? I was confused depressed and angry until some recent aha moments.
God is in the connections that we have with people. God is in the friends who rallied around. God is in the pride that I feel for my family. I saw a side to my father I was not aware of before. He had strength. He was devoted to my mother to her last breath. My sisters were strong capable women, there every step of the way. My family came together like I have never witnessed before. We learned how precious every moment is. We left nothing unsaid.

The irony is not lost on me. My mother the social butterfly lost her ability to speak. She had to put down her phone. While we were growing up my mother was not a demonstrative person. She was not a huggy feely touchy person. But in the end thats what she had. All she had was touches and gestures and hugs. And in the end she became what we never had before. I believe a healing took place for us and for her as we appreciated and demonstrated our love. So perhaps this was the gift god gave to her daughter s and her husband and the lesson she also learned before being taken to the other side. And now god has the gift. Perhaps the angels need scarves and blankets!
