Slavegirl925 -> Hello everyone (11/22/2009 9:41:08 AM)

I am just starting to get into the BDSM scene, and am very curious about it. I have always enjoyed being tied up and blindfolded, but I'm a little nervous about the whole whipping/spanking thing. I listed things when I created this profile as "curious" either because I do not know about it, or Im interested in learning more about it/experiencing it. Can anyone offer me some advice as a new "slave"? What type of things should I lay down in the beginning, as far as what I am willing to do/how far Im willing to go, etc.? I know there are safe words, but not really sure about how it all works yet. Thanks in advance for any advice here. I just don't want to get in over my head with someone in person, and not know what is safe or okay to protest with.

Hi there!

Generally, I'd recommend that a newbie meet people at groups - there have to be some in Portland.  If you meet some guy online and then meet in person, you're less safe than when you meet someone in a group. Plus, at play parties, you can see other doing the stuff you are curious about.

How it works:  you meet someone and agree to play.  The two of you discuss in general terms what will happen.  If you are concerned about something, let him know.  If you do not want to do something, let him know.  Agree on a safe word.

When play starts, give control over to him and relax as much as possible.  If you have more pain than you can handle or freak out for any reason, safe word immediately.  He will then either ease up the pace, change to another activity, or stop play altogether.

If you see a couple that seem to be happy together, start chatting with them.  Ask them about prospective Doms, and who they might recommend.

Welcome and have fun!

The things that you will never do under any circumstances are hard limits.  The things that you're willing to try, but the Top needs to go slow, could be considered soft limits.

Hello and welcome. Try taking it slow and try everything at least twice, just to make sure.
