I mentioned the possibility of this in one of the gamer sub threads but I thought it best to make a seperate post about it, so that those that missed the thread would get a chance to have some imput. Anyways I mentioned in that thread that I was considering setting up a game server for the CM community. Free of course. I already got messages from a couple of people from that thread that expressed interest and so I am wondering how many others are also interested in such a server. The basic info is that its a Meridian59 server, first person Doom-ish 3D, pvp oriented and system requirements aren't worth posting because I doubt theres computer still in existance that would not run it. All anybody would need is to download the client (70mb) and an account. I would provide the client and do most of the major admin work myself, though as there is support for 'lower' admin accounts i'd be happy to include CM members as administrators and to run events. I'd also consider a UO server as well. I just thought it would make for an interesting addition to the community as many people use it as a virtual chatroom as well. Given that theres an internal email, message board and private messaging system I suppose thats not suprising. Theres also support for guilds, buyable guildhalls, wars, tournaments, events, special colored items/skin/hair/etc.. and all that fun stuff. I've also got screenshots from my test server if anyones interested in seeing what it looks like. Too large to post in this message unfortunately. So, if enough people are interested i'll set it up and write up a help guide for it.
