And??? So Republicans set the precedent and the Democrats confirmed it. The Democrats could have stopped it but they didn't because they wanted to bottle up Bush anyway they could. Now you have Senate Republican's doing the same thing. And this is all nonsense about crossing Party Lines... The Red State Democrat Senators who are up for re-election know the first two rules of politics quite well, 1) Get elected, 2) Stay elected. The do not "stay elected" if there is a Public Option in the Health Care Reform Law, wether they voted for it or not, period, end of story. Voting against the Public Option is what their electorate wants of them. So... if a Health Care Act is passed without a Public Option, it will be beacuse the Liberal Senator's decided to forgo thier opposition to a bill without one. It will not be Harry Reid's fault, it would be the fault of the Senators who themselves vowed not to support a Reform Act, unless it had a Public Option attached.

Oh, you take a bridge too far, Firm. Violence and incarceration are two different things. You may indeed call lethal injection or electrocution violence, but padding down to the courthouse to listen to some fuckwad read boilerplate and fining you for a dooie ain't violence in the same way that enhanced interrogation is torture. if its only a little lie then it isn't an invasion? if he quit before he was actually voted he isn't impeached? if he actually presided over the largest expansion of government in history, is he still a conservative? I do hear you Firm, and I don't know how many grains of sand it takes to make a pile of it a pile or not a pile..... It is fairly subjective. Coercion is subjective, because I give my daughter a withering look and speak in forbidding tones to insure she completes her homework, is that violence? My dog in the fight is not a big one, as you see......... I am up in the air about it. But I thought corrupt democrats were pussies all this time, I was unaware that corruption equated to violence in all cases. Ron

I guess it's all Harry. Public option is out of the Senate version of health care reform. I guess that the democrats listened to their constituants after all. Re election means everything to these guys. I do have one big question though . In the Senate version, medicare will cover 50 million more. You will be covered at age 55 instead of 65 as it is now. How will this be accomplished when 460 million will be cut from medicare ? Go Harry...

What is on the table now is a backdoor to the public option. There are triggers to be set by a health czar for implementation of the public option. If they were serious about no public option even temporarily then they would make the trigger subject to Congressional approval at the time. As it is, total bs. Hopefully Lieberman and some blue dogs will recognize it for what it is.
