South Carolina peddles tax-free weapons for Black Friday!A Tax Holiday in S.C.....not on cars....not clothes.....certainly not books.....just guns.
A 9% tax break for a 48 hr period following Thanksgiving......nothing says holidays like a sweet deal on some firearms..
Oh,I wish I was in the land of cotton....good times there are not forgotten....look away ,look away Dixie Land.
I wonder if the savings will be passed on to the thugs and carreer criminals on the mean streets of New York?

Well blow me down ,this got moved to Polls and Random Stupidity......let's see it's not a poll.....and while it's my opinion a tax break on gun sales qualifies as stupid....I'm at a loss as to why the subject itself would fall under the "random Stupidity" heading?
Curious indeed!

Mike, last year during the tax break I bought a Springfield Arms XD-40 handgun used in great condition and saved a bundle!
One of the reasons that that driver's lisenses for illegal aliens didn't pass in N.Y. was that they then could have bought guns in many states with them!
Forget the cheap "sat night specials" Paco would then be packing some major heat!
And as for buying cars in this state the maximum amount of sales tax on *any* car is $300! New Caddy or Lincoln, $300!
If I were still in "The People's Republic of Massachusetts" the new Lincoln would have cost me about $2,700 in sales tax instead of the $300 I paid here!
Mike, *anytime* the state wants to take *less* of your money that's a *good thing!*
And states like S. Carolina, New Hampshire, Vermont and many others seem to believe in Freedom more than states like N.Y., Mass., and N.J. do for their citizens.

Mike, do they even "let" people buy guns in N.Y. anymore?

Sure they do Popeye....its just that we prefer to have some common sense laws regarding who can buy what. Its my understanding that the great state of South Carolina has just amended their stringent requirements lowering the age from 21....to 18.
Like I said earlier...ain't freedom grand. No need to let a young man's hormones calm down prior to arming him.

I thought that it was pretty standard, 18 for long-guns and 21 for hand-guns.

Tazzy, you beat me to it!
Also, we do have tax-free days/weekends that include not only "books" but other things.
And yeah, we do have some dumb people in these parts but you know what we do with them?
We send them up to New York to teach school.
