October Sky

"My mother was a pure woman from a noble family. And I, at least, know who my father is, you pig-eating son of a whore!"

Llyren -> RE: Great lines from your favorite movies (12/8/2009 6:20:23 PM)

The funniest part of that line for me, Steven, is that she had to look them up to be sure!
[:D]

Moonhead -> RE: Great lines from your favorite movies (12/9/2009 5:30:58 AM)

The Thirteenth Warrior.

(new quotation):
"Fuck you, you pretentious beret-wearing motherfucker!"

Moonhead -> RE: Great lines from your favorite movies (12/11/2009 12:49:57 PM)

As it seems nobody's going to get that one, let's try something a bit easier instead:
"Inform the troops that Lord Vader has arrived."

gehennasfury -> RE: Great lines from your favorite movies (12/11/2009 12:53:26 PM)

Actually, the line is "Inform the commander that Lord Vaders shuttle has arrived". It is from Star Wars episode VI, Return of the Jedi.

Try this line, "This weapon is your life."

CarrieO -> RE: Great lines from your favorite movies (12/11/2009 2:51:20 PM)

Star Wars 3- Revenge of the Sith

" I can't believe you people. I come for you, and you want to stay, I let you stay and you want to go."

**BTW...Moonhead, you had me completely stumped with your other quote about the pretentious beret wearer.  Care to share which movie its from?

Moonhead -> RE: Great lines from your favorite movies (12/12/2009 5:08:32 AM)

It's from Living In Oblivion, Carrie. Hilarious film. You should check that one out sometime if you've not seen it.

CarrieO -> RE: Great lines from your favorite movies (12/12/2009 8:12:56 AM)

Thanks MH...looked it up on IMB and it sounds like it's right up my alley.  I'll have to check it out.

Moonhead -> RE: Great lines from your favorite movies (12/14/2009 12:07:39 PM)

Is it Meet Joe Black?

CarrieO -> RE: Great lines from your favorite movies (12/14/2009 12:28:39 PM)

Yep!

Now let's have a movie quote...[:)]

Moonhead -> RE: Great lines from your favorite movies (12/14/2009 12:30:02 PM)

Okay, try this one, then:

Well look happy you stupid bastards: we won!

CarrieO -> RE: Great lines from your favorite movies (12/14/2009 1:45:07 PM)

The Italian Job....love Michael Caine.

Give this one a try...

"What we see and what we seem are but a dream, a dream within a dream."

zephyroftheNorth -> RE: Great lines from your favorite movies (12/14/2009 2:23:00 PM)

"It happens sometimes. People just explode. Natural causes."

~Repoman~

Moonhead -> RE: Great lines from your favorite movies (12/15/2009 4:04:37 PM)

Isn't that Poe? I didn't think Corman got around to filming The City In The Sea.

CarrieO -> RE: Great lines from your favorite movies (12/15/2009 6:41:58 PM)

Not sure if you're replying to me or not, MH, but it's not Poe.  Try again....it was rather interesting Australian film from the '70's.  One of my favorites.

Moonhead -> RE: Great lines from your favorite movies (12/16/2009 5:33:56 AM)

Picnic At Hanging Rock?

CarrieO -> RE: Great lines from your favorite movies (12/16/2009 5:42:53 AM)

Correct!  Okay...time for another movie quote.

Moonhead -> RE: Great lines from your favorite movies (12/16/2009 1:28:06 PM)

Okay then, try this one:

"It ain't like it was, but it'll do."
(Big clue. It's a western.)

CarrieO -> RE: Great lines from your favorite movies (12/16/2009 5:58:23 PM)

The Wild Bunch?   (Carrie's secret # 100203890.1; I like westerns [:)])

Give this a try... "I think people who like to smoke candy and listen to cigarettes will love it."
An oldie but goodie from the '40's

QuirkyAnne -> RE: Great lines from your favorite movies (12/16/2009 6:01:48 PM)

Breakfast Club

"Does Barry Manilow know you raid his wardrobe?"

Anne
