ORIGINAL: RiotGirl While its obvious a state of mind - i was wondering what others did when they found themselves bored I was actually a little nervous clicking on this thread. I was thinking. . . oh dear, RiotGirl got bored, now what DID she DO? Phew!!!!!!!! I do not tend to get bored, especially if I am by myself. I do find that I get bored with people, especially if they are in a constant snarky mood. Hmmm. . . actually had a conversation like that today. I did not say that I was bored with them, but I did snap in irritation of the constant stream of negative comments. This negativity was coupled with the "I enjoy spending time with you." I just wanted to hiss, "Well, I am glad ONE of us is having a good time." But I was polite. Unfortunatly this negativity seems to be the MO for this person. I have not yet decided what to do about it. But it is boring the heck out of me. But, back to the OP. If I feel bored, I just find something to do (usually involves reading a book), or if I am with others, I try to introduce the idea of "people watching," which is a fun thing for me. Also for me, I was brought up with this senario. . . Me: I am bored. Parent: Find something to do. Me: There is nothing to do (add whinny voice for 50% of time) Parent: There are lots of things to do. Me: I am bored, and there is nothing to do. Parent: I can find you SOMETHING to do. Me: *shuts up and finds something to do because it has GOT to be better than what THEY will find me to do.* Anyway, I enjoyed my rant, and thank you, I needed it. Best, LaMalinche
