My heart it whispers ‘is this the One?” I can feel my heart skip a beat, Then the wondering, the excitement Bring me past the question as I look at the moment and not the future. The Dance it moves us around the floor of life Soon my feet tire or his tread on mine. The Dance soon gives way as the Dream is dissolved Time goes by I watch the clock each moment, Each day Time wears on, each month, Someone catches my eye, I smile, and My heart whispers, “is this the One”? I steady my heart this time and wait, Patience will show what impatience did not. My heart grows stronger as I am with my One My head becomes wiser as I spend time with my One. My thoughts are freer as I grow to respect my One. As I look from the moment into the past I see the path I see the path we have come along together I see where the paths come together As I look from this moment into the future I see but one path worn in some spots more then others. I can feel my heart skip a beat, Then remember the wondering and excitement, And learn that patience earns the best rewards, To wait and learn and grow to respect, Love comes in time, with time, for time.
