I see profiles a little differently than most, I think. To me a profile is a way to get across a sense of who one is. That doesn't have to include pictures of any sort - words are a very powerful way to do that. It doesn't matter to me whether the words are original or not. A carefully chosen quotation, some poetry or something that is self-authored yet evocative in some way will get my attention. The profiles with litanies of "I want this" and "This is what I offer" or "This is what you must offer me" are just so pedestrian. I don't have much in my profile right now because I'm not actively seeking anyone on this site but a profile I have on another site has a few pics (the only face pic is the one that I use as my avatar on the boards here, it's sufficiently obscured so that I'm comfortable with posting it) and some words that, for me, are meaningful. What I want is for those words to also capture someone else's interest the way they capture mine. If others think it's silly because there's no laundry list of "I wants" there, that's ok because that's not the type of person I'm looking for anyway. quote:
ORIGINAL: truesub4u Now my question is ..... if you are not going to post a pic of your face, why post a pic at all? <snip> I'm really not understanding, that's why I thought I would ask what others thought about the half body shot pics on some profiles.
