I can't help but wonder at what is in your browser history, that in your regular websurfing you "stumble" across some sort of White Supremacist Russian website.

Like, here's a snippet of my browser history of stuff I just "stumbled across"-
www.nazi_lactating_mistresses.com
www.charles_manson_is_my_personal_lord_and_savior.com
www.suck_satans_balls.com
www.foxnews.com

I guess you could cruise, oh, like Politico, or RealClearPolitics, or even HuffPo, but for the real skinny, the hidden truth no one else wants you to know, I trust the lactating Nazi mistresses.

If it seems like we are being a bit hard on you, we're actually just helping you out- "because I read it on the internet" is like saying "I read it on a sign held by a guy at a freeway offramp" for its seriousness and accuracy.

I wouldn't be to sure - they've already lost twice. People on opposite sides of the American Civil War were largely - not entirely, but largely - decendents of people who were on the opposite sides of the English civil war. The same side lost in both cases.

Edited to add: glad to see ya back, I hope everything is all right in your world.

Britain almost came into the American civil war on the Confederacy's side, you know. Supposedly Prince Albert had to talk Victoria out of that after some ship on the trading routes was seized. The disruption of the cotton trade caused a lot of trouble up north as well.

well to fit that whore out with arable (cotton) panties was a chore, I am sure.

I'm surprised as that because what Britian has wanted more than anything since the 1600s is a reliable trading partner and surely the North was that option. The same reason why the Americans entered WW1 on the side of the British - most of your loans and a large part of your trade was with us - you simply couldn't afford us to lose that war. Though your government mistakenly thought the Germans were beaten when you entered the war and thought you could have a place at the table with minimum casualties.

Hmmmm, ok i am seriously sorry if i gave the impression i was gullible enough to believe, or take for gospel everything we come acrossed on the net. my amusement with extreme points of view on both sides is a bit quirky for sure, but it doesn't mean i buy into it all. Its just interesting to see what is actually being written out there.

I'm from this side of the Atlantic as well.
My understanding is that it was the south that was selling cotton (and, before Wilberforce, buying slaves) and that was a much more important trade than anything the northern states had to offer at the time. I think the tobacco trade was all the southern states as well, wasn't it? Certainly when the cotton exports dried up during the civil war it had a terrible effect on the areas where they were processing the stuff, which was pretty much all of Northern England that didn't have a local economy based on pottery, manufacturing or mining at the time.

They've got a pair in one of the big museums in London: you could show an imax film on them...

Breatheasone, if you want "extreme" read the "Global Warmer's" sites!

rockspider -> RE: article from European Union Times (11/30/2009 3:13:34 PM)

Well the headline story certainly not been aired this side of the Atlantic. I subscribe to Denmarks biggest daily newspaper and do see the daily news on our main TV channel. Never heard about this particular paper either. Looking around in it reveals no persons claiming responsebility for it either. The articles is for some based on facts but compiled and edited in such a way that it is designed to stir maximum racial hatred.
Could it come from here? Sure, but i doubt Denmark as then it would have been the DNSAP behind it. Looks like their typical crap. DNSAP is the danish nazi party under the leadership off "Fat Johnni The Clown" as he is known here. We have very liberal laws off freedom off speech, freedom to form political parties which sadly enough also aplies to this kind of people. They even run a radiostation which under our radiolaw, made to encourage small community based radiostations to flourish, is used by them to get state subsidies. They number about 250 people and is mainly a source of fun with their antics. Much worse is the situation in or neighbour countries Sweden and Germany where they are banned. This has driven them underground and in reality made the movements much stronger and much more dangerous, which is borne out by the fact that those groups has carried out confirmed acts of terror. For me it is a much safer bet that it comes from there. Not Russia or any of their former alies. Don't sound like that. Another possibility is the links given to the neo nazi/ white supremacy groups in USA. But then again they normally do sign their claptrap.
The best way to deal with this kind of things is to ignore it.

Moonhead -> RE: article from European Union Times (11/30/2009 3:17:51 PM)

Words of wisdom, rockspider. That's definitely the best approach to take to this sort of crap.

I don't think anybody's being hard on her. She has a history of posting this kind of shit and of retorting with an eyelid bat and a sentence along the line of "I had no idea it was that bad!" every single time. Enough already [8|] . Either she stands by what she posts, or she's prepared to put up with the ensuing berating.

For fuck's sake.

I'm with ya there kittin.  There IS a history here plus it's a little hard to not notice the Neo-Nazi stuff

The English Civil War was a power struggle as you'd expect. Between various economic and political factions who wanted a share of the spoils. Not sure how that fits in with the American version.

It's a pretty rare war that isn't a power struggle for spoils - be they material and/or ideological. The bit about the American Civil war (another power struggle for spoils) is just that: an interesting tidbit of history I came across once - I find it fascinating that generations and an ocean later, the same groups were fighting each other again. That says something about humanity, and the currents of history, I think.

The disruption of the cotton trade was a major concern for Britain but there was also the strategic consideration. Britain recognized that the U.S. was a potential rival for world dominance and therefore wouldn't mind seeing it split in two.

If you want to continue to beat me up i really don't care, but please know, that i KNOW you are being unfair. i will CONTINUE to post if i think something is interesting or worth a look.
