Acer49 -> Tens unit (11/30/2009 5:27:31 PM)

What is the safe way to attach a tens unit, was told it could be attached to a woman's privates?? good voltage or amps to use?

depends on the tens. but my shit is not one of those little $89 dollar shitbreathers, mine has pads, and you can get them all over the net. I would start out low, real low, let it cycle a couple times then kick it up a notch rinse and repeat. clamp the bitch, if thats what you got, no biggie.

I have had it attached with pads to my lower back the first time, as it was hurting a little, and to get used to what it would feel like and various types of waves of various intensities were used and such which was felt very interesting...but then the electrodes (is that what they are called?) were attached to a dildo like insertable that is bought separately and that was very, very interesting!!

You should check out wiredpussy.com   You most definitely can put the electrodes around the pelvic area.

right after you light her on fire.....

Yes you can put it in that area with little worries - but better still put the tens unit to one side and get the Violet Wand out!

KateyCaine -> RE: Tens unit (12/3/2009 1:55:44 AM)

That was always on my list on hard limits, now i am willing to take it slowly and gradually. Which is what i can advise you - don't rush things, start off at levels you are comfortable with.

Ok, My experience with tens units is small but my knowledge of electricity is large. Like everyone else advises, start slow. First place the electrodes on an extremity and gradually increase the power just to get a feel of what your unit will do to you. It should start out with a tingling followed by muscle contractions and then real discomfort. The electricity is traveling from one pad, through the upper dermal layer to the living tissue and then to the other pad. You feel the sensations between the electrodes. If you put the pads on opposite thighs it will travel through the groin area. Now comes the problem. Electricity follows the path of least resistance. If you place one electrode on or in an area of a mucus membrane it will race towards to the other electrode by the wettest route. This could be deep inside causing all manner of problems to internal organs, including the heart. Be very careful of what might be between the two pads and remember, electricity follows It's path of least resistance!
Some observations; The smaller the pad the more intense feeling at the point of contact. The larger the pad the more intense between the points of contact. Placing the electrodes over a major blood vessel usually just hurts. If you wan your partner to feel more trusting (especially when you are starting out) put one (large) pad on your partner and the other on the back of your hand then give a one handed massage. Keep in mind what is between the pads and the point of contact with your hand.
I hope this has been of some help and I hope there will lots more information exchanged here. Electric play is not for everyone and some kinds play do not work while others do. For me, the snap of a high voltage sets my teeth on edge. It means that whatever piece of equipment I am working on has just had a bad problem.

Just don't put the pads on your face. My housemate did that when he was drunk, just above and below his eye, he was seeing stars for ages. [;)]

you can; after all, google Uncle Abdul for all things electrical.

I agree but only because I hate tens and love the violet wand!
Tens uses high current/low voltage to stimulate muscles where as a violet wand uses high voltage/low current to produce sparks that excite the skin surface.

What about putting one on one nut and the other on the other nut? Dangerous? :D

XaviersXian -> RE: Tens unit (12/7/2009 5:18:58 PM)

Hello everyone,

OP, why don't you ask a kink friendly physiotherapist (who is most likely qualified in using a tens unit)?.

I wish you well.

Do not let the electrical current cross the heart.

Llyren -> RE: Tens unit (12/7/2009 6:21:32 PM)

Exactly.  I have a portable TENS unit I got when I hurt my hamstring.  (Note:  It didn't help the pain any)  But the therapist said to not use it near the heart, or above mid-back.    You can buy toys that work with a TENS unit, though I haven't purchased any.  I like this shop, because she does offer practical advice along with nifty stuff.

One note, it doesn't seem to work as well with fatty tissue.  It causes a nasty painful buzzing.

allthatjaz -> RE: Tens unit (12/8/2009 1:04:30 AM)

Your right. A tens unit should never be used above the waist. People like http://www.electrastim.co.uk say on the website
WARNING - DO NOT USE IF....

* You suffer from any form of heart condition
* Above the waist
* Over inflamed, swollen or broken skin
* If pregnant
* If you suffer from epilepsy
* If you are suffering from any form of penile, vaginal or anal disorders

The stuff they make are specially designed products with attachments for the male and female genital area but before people like them where around, people where using a basic tens unit for gentle stimulation.
The one thing you do need to be careful of is the womans clit because electro stimulation to that area will disrupt the nerve endings and can deaden feeling in that area temporarily or permanently if you kept hitting that same spot for weeks.

only if you've just been kicked in the nuts and they are up around your heart.

Remember Napoleon Dynamite and the time machine?

lol, I meant dangerous to your nuts. :P

I was prescribed a TENS unit for neck pain in High school.

Thenewaccount10 -> RE: Tens unit (12/8/2009 12:31:32 PM)

Thanks, I will have to try it if I ever get a tens unit. :P (I am looking at one now, but not sure when I will have the $$ for it.
