Oh Rockspider my dear, your English is great, but youre struggling a little with my nuanced sarcasm I think; no criticism in that, English nuanced sarcasm is something that few non Brits get, even those from the colonies. "Those damned foreigners" is exactly that nuanced sarcasm - its the sort of phrasing that the establishment use about anyone who doesnt speak English, all countries that do speak English being regarded as colonies of Empire with the US being just next to that group. I agree with your assessment of the EU but I still support the idea of it, just not the way it has been allowed to develop into an undemocratic entity operated by appointees and bureaucrats at the behest of the Franco-German axis, into which falls a number of other countries trotting happily behind, joined as they are to all intents and purposes to the interests of that axis. My problem with the way the UK has behaved in this is that it has stepped away rather than taking the lead in resisting the Franco-German agenda, something which many other countries would have supported I believe - Denmark being one of them, but the UK is still owned and operated by those who took over in 1066, built an Empire and still believe they are the chosen people, despite all evidence to the contrary. I speak fluent German and useful French, a bit of Dutch, a smattering of a mixed up Czech/Polish language that seems to work out OK on either lot and I also tried to learn some Danish once - interesting to say the least. I've travelled to around half the countries of Europe so far, mostly on business, including Denmark where my hosts got me so drunk I thought I'd die of alcohol poisoning but even so I had to have some Double Diamond beer at the English pub in the town on top simply because it had been years since I'd even seen it over here. As for the majority of my compatriots I have to agree - loud, ill-mannered, ignorant and arrogant sums up it best perhaps as regards their attitudes to Europe, of which they know nothing aside from their two weeks in the sun on the Costas of Spain or the islands of Greece, where to their delight they eat English food and drink English beer shipped in specially for them, 'cause they wouldnt want to touch any of that "foreign muck" as their copy of the Sun or Mirror (also specially shipped in for them) has educated them is European food. When abroad on business and I spot Brits I pretend to be German to avoid any association with them. Med venligst Hilsen E
