The smart individual learns from everyone that touches him or that he touches, but in a d/s relationship he learns about both she and himself. I wrote an essay which you’ll find in my journal the futher explains my phylosophy.

Each person has to learn what they have to learn. Sometimes we're gifted, sometimes we're talented, sometimes we were lucky to have excellent teachers at an early age. But yes, what we have to learn and how to operate effectively in a relationship has nothing to do with what orientation a person happens to have.

I meant that in a good d/s relationship this learning can be so much deeper as more is shared

I think my sister and her husband in a vanilla relationship have shared a lot more in their 8 years of marriage and 2 children than a lot of Ds relationships out there in the world. I don't think M/s relationships have shared more than I do with my partners. Ds is not inherently deeper than any other relationship.

Pet and I continue to learn from each other. Education, experimentation, reading, and discussion, is a continuing process for us. New idea come to mind now and then and we research them together.

A Master must be comfortable in his own skin, balanced with knowledge of forethought and understanding always that though he is essentially a teacher, never does he cease to learn.

Oh My God......Yes! You can not help but learn more about an individual that your in a relationship with as you spend more and more time together. Secrets, fantasies, bitchiness, jealousies, emotional stability or instability, as well as a million other personality traits and quirks, are all things that come out over time not in a day or two, and it doesn't matter if your the Top or the bottom, you will both continue to learn. FOr an individual person, one type is better FOR THEM. That doesn't mean the relationship type itself is better or deeper universally.

You can have a marriage of many years without having any understanding of each other, that wouldn’t be possible with in a d/s relationship.

Your multiple negatives confuse me. However I have not changed my feelings on this. One type of relationship is no deeper than another type of relationship. Ladys, Let me help you over the language barrier. You ARE saying the same thing, just from opposite viewpoints. ie. That it is a personal, not a generic thing. Some will find D/s to be more intense for them, others will not.
