Yes, you too can participate, and yes, you can include partners, parents, and other thirdhand parties who would be enriched and made healthier by the experience. Please invite your CM companions who may not yet know about this; we want to include as many deserving and wonderful people of all stations as we possibly can.
*Details still being worked out, but as of this writing, liftoff for this project has tentatively been scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010. STAY TUNED to this channel for news, updates, useful info, encouragement, HUGS, stories, sharing, random acts of kindness and senseless beauty, recipes and other suggestions for healthy activities and choices, and other good things. We look forward to seeing all of you, and sharing the road to better health and HAWTNESS with you.*

Status: offline 		That oatmeal sounds NUMMY, lp. I wanted to add, if anyone has any recipes, articles off elsewhere in the Web relating to diet and exercise, or things of that nature that they would like to share, please feel free to copy and paste (if applicable) or post the links here.
Also, for folks like sophie who may have already started on a path of weight loss, that's lovely and to be encouraged, and because dieting over the holidays takes real chutzpah that most of us just ain't got, I vote for letting sophie count her pre-existing numbers - as long as she eats plenty over Christmas.. *WEG*

Key things to this being a great breakfast recipe: Lots of fiber to fill the empty spaces, nut protein (lower usually in fat and overall calories than meats) that also keeps belly happy and avoids a blood sugar spike, natural sugars from berries and honey, complex carbs that don't burn off and crash you within an hour, cinnamon is a natural blood sugar regulator.

Status: offline 		Anyone starting ahead of the date can count it in their total and we will praise you every step of the way. The weeklies and rewards won't start til January though. Oh, and no one HAS to post their weight, current or present, just the change weekly and total loss and over how long. The weeks will end on Fridays, so first post will be on Jan8.

I will do this also: as of now, and in absence of a scale in My immediate vicinity but knowing how My clothes are fitting after an autumn of rich negligence on My part, I am probably running about 210 (thank the Goddess I'm kinda tall for a Girl..)

Status: offline 		I was at the doctors' office when we found out my weight. I thought since my pants were getting loose, it must mean that I was losing weight. I have a pair of 22s I want to get into (currently 24). Maybe my ass was getting smaller since I walk quite a bit.

GOOD IDEA, MH! I went to have a look at SparkPeople once, here a couple of years ago at the recommendation of a friend. Perhaps, when the time comes (Jan. 2), we can innundate the site with our collective wonderfulness, and use it like a good and informative tool for all it's worth.
