Ok I thought that we had picked up on most oddities between the way we use English but this one has beaten me. Can anyone tell me what trush is. Not heard it before and when I asked I was told to get an American dictionary which was not particularly helpful.

Ha ha i think you misheard them. The expression is "stop talking trash" as talking shit, as in startin' crap, as in poppin' off...

If it was something you were told to stop talking, I would suggest they misspelled trash.

Oh, ok... if someone told you to "stop talking TRASH"(not trush) Then yes, its slang for boasting perhaps....it can mean a few things.
