DomImus -> Algore bails on Climategate conference (12/4/2009 3:54:06 PM)

Maybe Al decided there was just a little to much "global warming" in the kitchen for him.

Gore cancels climate conference event

Yeah take back that Oscar because some scientists wrote a few emails a couple of years later. Shows the kind of political lengths the deniers will go to, out of desperation, to make the work of a handful of people be shown to represent the work of every climatologist.

I can show you reports on how glaciers on Everest are melting with giant crevasses forming at an unprecedented rate or how people in the foothills of Bolivia are fearing future drought due to melting glaciers. You’d have to have an open mind to believe these unprecedented events could have anything to do with us so I’ll not bother.

Ask yourself though that if there is the slightest chance we are heading for global catastrophe due to our habits isn’t it worth trying to change them to avert this possible future crisis? People have acted against Iran and other nations to avert future events that there is far less evidence to support will happen.

Brain -> RE: Algore bails on Climategate conference (12/4/2009 4:34:05 PM)

You guys must be losing the climate change debate badly now to be misrepresenting facts so frequently lately. I don't know why Al Gore won’t go to this meeting but the reason has nothing to do with the debate about climate change. The evidence for humans causing climate change is overwhelming and quite frankly I think Al Gore just didn't want to deal with right wing bullshit. By bullshit I mean lies. I posted a story about Exxon paying people to lie about climate change and try to discredit climate change in order to protect Exxon profits.

A handful of people? ROFLMAO. The whole fucking charade was led by or relied on falsified data from this "handful of people".

And there isnt the slightest chance that we can avert "global climate catastrophe" given our current state of knowledge.

The entry I made above should be a reply to DomImus.

SL4V3M4YB3 -> RE: Algore bails on Climategate conference (12/4/2009 4:42:57 PM)

What has been falsified depends on your interpretation of the word 'trick' i.e. is it a deception or is it a method. Do you never say things like 'I use this trick to do such and such'? It could just be sloppy use of language therefore unlearned people should not rush to judgement thinking complex issues could be exposed as lies or cover-ups in a handful of paragraphs.

The legs this story is getting shows the utter desperation involved in those reluctant to change.

Agreed, Im not sure global warming is as bad as some would have us think. There is no denying that it is taking place though.

Legs? This story hasnt even begun to be broken, much less have unjustified legs. The underpinnings of a false religion are being dislodged one by one. the emails werent so much revelation as they are affirmation of what legitimate scientists have been saying for years, or wanted to say but were afraid to because of the character assasination they faced.

SL4V3M4YB3 -> RE: Algore bails on Climategate conference (12/4/2009 5:18:34 PM)

This story has been running around the track for two weeks and now the UN are involved, it will die down as soon as people stop focussing their hate on a handful of people.

There are scientists on both sides of the debate but there are substantially more on one side. As far as handling risk goes you mitigate it in terms of how catastrophic the consequences of realising that risk will be. That is to say even if there was no proof just supposition (which isn’t the case) the theory alone should be enough to prompt people to begin to mitigate the risk due to the high consequences involved (a future earth inhabitable to humans.)

Ha! Seems whenever he's challenged ALGORE runs.

He must have remembered the old saying. " If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen".. He is a fraud..

I think I found out why he didn't go to the conference....

So you figure Tipper's dirty mind is running wild again?

Or maybe they are just trying to fill the vacuum of this whore not showing up?

SL4, if the "U.N." is involved you know it's a fraud!
They think they'll get more $ out of Western countries for "carbon credits" or whatever!
We REALLY do need to put it to the American People as to whether the U.S. should remain in the "U.N."
