Status: offline 		I think global warming skeptics have a lot more to prove before anything like this is going to happen, particularly his Oscar, I don't think so.

Status: offline 		I don't think they should take back his Oscar. Michael Moore has won them, hasn't he? His movies are largely bullshit. Let Algore keep his.

Say what you like about Moore (and even I have to say he's gone a bit off the rails in his last couple of efforts) but I will still put up Rodger and Me as a fine piece of documentary work on the death of an American City.

Well that's just fine, Spinner.  I would put Master of Puppets up as one of the greatest rock albums of all time, but it doesn't mean that Metallica is worth a shit two decades later. 

This is a press-release story.  Nothing will come of the proposal, but it may serve to get this story to the millions of Americans who haven't heard word one of the scientific fraud that has been laid on them as "settled science."

I'll go with you on Metallica. But I still see a lot more political hay being made of this than scientific re-evaluation. While it does raise a lot of questions and I do want some real, hard answers, the doings of a couple of scientists among hundreds if not thousands does not invalidate the work of all. Some, however, seem to want this to serve as proof that everyone who does think that man made global warming is real that they have been taken. Let me point out that nowhere was an email found that said "Spoke to every scientist on our side. We know this is bullshit but we decided to go with it anyway."

I said at the beginning and still say that what we have is enough to start an investigation, not enough to come to a conclusion.

Status: offline 		Not just any old "couple of scientists," Spinner.  We are talking about top guys at the "most respected" institutions, sending emails saying they will "redefine peer-review" in order to keep contrary opinion out of view.  We are talking about emails saying they will destroy data before releasing it, then finding out the data HAS in fact been "lost."

Bring on the investigation, and more importantly, bring on the mainstream media to let the overwhelming majority of Americans into the know about the need for a comprehensive investigation.
