Greetings,

I won't go into details as that defeats the purpose of my question. Needless to say I had one of those dodgy experiences on collarme, however it was with someone who would appear to be a geunine bad egg as opposed to one of these scam webcam machines.

I was contacted by a random person who saw a message explaing an identical story(They were in another country!). I told him about a little support group we'd formed due to the bad things which were happening from this user. I'd like to make a message somewhere for others to come forward about the 'abuse' and was wondering is this allowed?

p.s i appreciate this probably isnt even the correct forum to ask this question, but i could not see an appropriote one.

Thanks,
Lights

I'm no mod, but until one comes along and issues a definitive answer, I'd be inclined to say that it would not be allowed. If whatever this undesirable egg is doing is against the TOS, you can always turn state's evidence and report them. But short of that, you're probably just going to have to let people learn their own lessons about them.

Well, it is certainly off-topic, so why not?
In general, my understanding of CM TOS is that, no, it is not okay to mention someone in a negitive manner on these boards by SN, or by name or other contact information. 'calling someone out' is not allowed. Sorry.

I'm not sure if I am understanding you correctly but you can not black list other users , post emails from other users, or attack other other users within the forums. If that doesn't answer your question go to the forum guidelines.

It's always interesting when people with absolutely no history here come in to the forums to "protect" us from other people.  The fact that no one knows whether your claim is true or if you just have an axe to grind is why such posts are frowned upon, and make our benevolent masters cranky.  You might want to contact them directly with your info and let them deal with it.

Well if you only had one bad experience on these kind of forums, you must be pretty green

Greetings,

I won't go into details as that defeats the purpose of my question.

Would it?  Maybe a bit more information would help to make better sense of what you're wanting to do.

Needless to say I had one of those dodgy experiences on collarme, however it was with someone who would appear to be a geunine bad egg as opposed to one of these scam webcam machines.

Well, there are more than a few "bad eggs" here on CM.  You'll find that all over the internet, though.

I was contacted by a random person who saw a message explaing an identical story(They were in another country!). I told him about a little support group we'd formed due to the bad things which were happening from this user. I'd like to make a message somewhere for others to come forward about the 'abuse' and was wondering is this allowed?

You seem to be doing a good job of outing people you don't care for in your journal entries...isn't that enough?  Do you mean start a list of "bad eggs and those who have been wronged"?  You might want to take a look at the guideline on blacklisting HERE . Always good to take the time to read the guidelines before posting on a forum for the first time.

p.s i appreciate this probably isnt even the correct forum to ask this question, but i could not see an appropriote one.

Although this would appear to be the correct forum, there's always Polls and Random Stupidity.

Thanks,
Lights

Well actually it isnt really to attack the 'bad egg' its more of a case to find other people who had the same experience. I think it would be quite interesting to see how many people this person has contacted and attempted to make certain things happen. Maybe its the researcher in me that wants this :D as here is what I've seen

Wouldn't it be cool to see if this turned into a few hundred profiles. Usually 3 CM profiles are involved in the whole process. So we' see small cliques forming!

p.s I can perfectly understand why a message or group saying XXX is bad is against the rules. I'm more interested in doing has XXX contacted you about this - post here if so.

I think we're at a point where - without knowing more about what you're talking about - we're not really able to offer very informed opinions. Perhaps at some point this evening, a mod will come stumbling into the thread and hurl a pearl of wisdom in your general direction, but short of that I think we're all just shooting in the dark. Sorry if we can't be more helpful than that.

Any attempts to blacklist a person will result in posts being removed. That includes giving away enough clues that identify an profile or person.
If you have a problem or issue, report it using the appropriate sections on the other side.

Just FYI - I understand what Mod Sixteen is saying.

My request is more in line of 'has anyone else had this experience' with XXX(XXX is meant as random characters, not whomever XXX is) I know its not a feature or something that would be allowed on CM.

But I'd certainly love to see something where people could seek each other out when they find themselves in a certain scenario.

But I guess no matter how right I could possibly be, having these types of groups is a slippery slope to harassment and skulduggery

when scam artists or other obvious bad types have contacted me, i generally do not give them enough of my attention to remeber their name a day, or an hour, later. I usually send them a quick reply warning that repeated behavoir will get them reported. Only becuase I do so, do I even know when someone has contacted me before, because I hit reply, and, lo and behold, there is a history there! LOL.
the people who are using this site to bad ends are not worth space in my head to even remeber their names, sorry. So, even if the mods let you ask on here if 'XYZ' did so and so.... i wouldn't be able to help you.
