I tried html formatting my profile a while back, but it never worked right, and I didn't care enough to pursue it.

If it is possible, the scammers will love it!

Perhaps, since they sell ads here, the feature is prevented?

Yes, I did try that, but it was an absolute complete and unmitigated failure. Personally, I don't see any way to make it work, but a friend has asked me if I could help her figure it out, so I'm leaving no stone unturned. Looks like a dead end, though.
