Status: offline 		It is unfortunate you were offended. Humor is a coping skill. Or maybe they are just ignorant. Either way, I lean towards free speech purism. If I don't like what I hear, I remove myself from the situation.

I tend to believe there is nothing so serious it can't be joked about -- but delivery is everything.

This is just another installment of the you-don't-have-a-right-not-to-be-offended issue. Someone is ALWAYS going to tell a joke you don't like.

I think you're missing the idea of freedom. It's not just about freedom to do what you like, it about letting other people do what they like ... and not beating them up

. bad porn in this instance means haha haha lame bad. not offensive me hurt you bad nasty shit bad. It's poking fun at all the lame clips and stuff.


the jokes were not parts of the bad porn, so it's not like you go in there to see bad porn about well you know. the subject of the jokes. It

the bad porn picture did however prompt a guy to start telling jokes. so he saw a picture of a guy humping a toy, then he says that reminds me..........

AND THAT is where things went wrong.

I won't be checking THAT particular thread.


Trust me if it was a site for and about raping someone I found offensive I wouldn't go I was just browsing a harmless site.

Saratov, Moloch, John; Lets put it this way, if it was legal to burn national flags here (and it is a jailible offence), I’d lead a charge to rescue the flag and not take a body count (No bodies + no body count. I’d hope that such actions would send a message that without a violent response, people can stand up for what they see to be right. You guys have read my profile and some of you have known me here for a while.. I will not stand idly by and watch my flag, your flag, anybody’s fucking flag being desecrated or allow the misinformed to abuse or beat up on vets or other peoples who generally cant defend themselves. I will as far as possible stay within the laws however if push comes to shove, I’ll take jail over walking away and dishonouring myself. John you know exactly my mind set in this matter. I’d ask you, would you even after all these years calmly turn you back on “sacred” things of the Corps being desecrated? We have to find the means best suited to our temperament and abilities to try to balance the matters. As far as I am concerned, we all have the right to express our feelings and ideas but we also have the responsibility to allow others the same freedoms to express theirs too.

Not unfortunate on two counts. First, the flag is private property and the owner of that property has the right to dispose of it as he or she sees fit.

Second, it's a perfect example of the aspect of free speech I've brought up repeatedly. Any group who burns a flag is not only unlikely to bring others to their point of view but it almost certain to solidify public opinion against them.

If I had my way, anyone who opposes me would be required to burn the flag. It would make winning a lot better.

If you're going after people who mistreat the flag let's pitch some of those "patriots" into jail who rip it to pieces by attaching it to their car.

I like the point your making here John. Personally I'm in favour of using car stickers rather than flags unless either it is an official car or its a pennant to support my local football team or I'm on a medieval jaunt.... My views on flag burning are based entirely on my upbringing and the values and beliefs on what is and is not sacroscant.. Have to admit though I'll keep your thoughts of the public reprocussions in my little black box of tricks in case it is ever needed....
