Hey, Oumae, do you do that Irish step-dancing stuff? You have the gams for it.

Over here we have a Guinness commercial about it--not sure whether they show the same Guinness commercials in the homeland.

Lol. yes, step dancing goes on.

If you ever get to Ireland do the Guinness Factory tour and you can see all the old ads.

Thanks everyone for the good wishes.

Hope that luck o' the Irish stays with you Raven.

We don't tend to have green beer here, I think only thing that goes green is one of those shakes from the place with the yellow M. I'm not a beer drinker myself but will raise a vodka with a dash of lime and say Slainte to you all.

Actually.....I have not even thought about a bra today! My blarney stones are breathing free today and seeing as everyone is Irish on St. Patrick's Day...I strongly encourage all of the other ladies to take advantage of erin-go-braless day too!!!

Oumae -> RE: Happy St Patrick's day! (3/17/2006 11:56:29 AM)

Lol!

The actual phrase "Erin go brath" means Ireland forever or long live Ireland, erin going braless might leave a better visual with many tho' [;)]

This is my favorite too. Is it true that it's supposed to be the best cure for a hangover? I've never gotten to test it out as I'm not much of a drinker.

My family has a huge feast for St. Patrick's day every year. Last night I made 10 loaves of soda bread. Today I am cooking 6 briskets, cabbage, a pot of Irish stew, Dublin Coddle and Colcannon.

Mmmmmm!!!!!

Sounds like you are busy!!

Not sure about it being a cure for a hangover, I dont get them myself. if I have friends staying I usually give them a big fry up in the morning and that seems to sort them out.

Enjoy your day!

We Irish have never needed an excuse to get drunk. Our tradition is if the day ends in the letter Y we should drink.

Happy St. Patrick's Day.

I've seen "Erin go bragh" and "Erin go brath." Is there a difference?

Damned erin, you HAVE been busy. tess is making corned beef and cabbage but she did want to mention that if you were closer she "wants some colcannon" (insert pleading look). Poor Shifted is having to endure being around two who are Irish more than just one day a year, guess she'll have hot dogs or something...lol.

And I stand corrected..Happy St. Paddys day does sound more masculine than patty.

There are different dialects in different parts of the country.
