50 mg of trazadone might fix that.   What meds is he on?

Aye, there ain't much that won't fix....

i think a sleep study is the way to go. Depending on what type of insurance you have, you may, or may not need a referral from your primary physician.

It could be an allergy.  Caffeine or otherwise.    A trazodone RX is like $8.50.    I would try that first.

I have to agree to the sleep study...I had sleep problems over approx 8 years of my life and found my way to solve it...however if I would not have managed that and if someone would have realised it then I would have preferred someone to look proper into what was going on and to work on that instead of covering it up with medication.

When I worked in children's home we got far too many kids from psychiatric units filled up with meds instead of working actively on the causes...

therefore it is time to look for the reasons...

Regarding that his family might be a trigger, that reminds me that my manager observed me being different on the days when I went home to my parents for a few days...he realised I was more edgy and fiddling and by far not as calm as usual...so it certainly can have an impact...that being said I feel much happier since I live further away

To bad you are a sub and he is Dom. Getting up and getting some ice water to throw would bring him right out.

I can think of about 8 katrillion answers to this question (none of which would be however, even remotely by the way "Getting up and getting some ice water to throw would bring him right out").

There's a variety of drugs that can help in this issue (most of which I've tried, having experienced similar issues...none, by the way, have worked well or had any lasting efficacy).

Temperment is an issue, stress (obviously), serotonin (sp?) issues are another.

I won't suggest the names of the drugs....every person is different.

Some will make the person sleep through the night (too often comatose....sleeping well but never resolving the real issue), others will take you through all kinds of interesting dreams, but eventually leave you wanting.

The real answer (at least for me) is/was finding the "structural" issues that are causing this dilemma.

And then dealing with them.

I'm betting it's a side effect of the unnamed antianxiety med. Call the doctor, report the problem, have him try other medications. And ffs he shouldn't be drinking with these meds, if he is.
