This isn't really a question, just looking for comments, and possibly other ideas as far as punishment without pain. Not sure if its even in the right thread.

In the few scenarios that I have been in where I felt that I needed to punish, I used very very mild forms of punishment. Such as "corner time" with a detailed description of exactly what the sub did wrong, so that they had to really think about it. Or a writing assignment where the sub had to write what it was they did wrong about 2-300 times. I just needed the sub to understand what they did wrong, and for me, it has always worked (in the very few times I have punished).

Hello M and M,
If it works for you, that's what matters.  From a clinical standpoint, however, you are reinforcing negative behavior when you have them write what they've done wrong instead of what they should do right.  Also sometimes when you tell them what they did wrong, it doesn't mean they know what they should do that you would consider correct.  (While some things are obvious, not all things are).

You have them write:  I broke her lamp.
A positive way:  I will be more careful with Miss' things.

It just keeps the positive at the forefront.

I never thought of it that way. I am learning more everyday. Which is why I like these forums. I never feel stupid when I get constructive criticism, and just accept it as part of my learning process. I really want to be the best dominant I can be now and in the future. Which is why I ask some dumb questions sometimes. [:D]
