Dear Laura,

You say:
"I'm not looking for 24/7. That is something you assumed on your own."

This is exactly my point, your Profile says so little that I was left speculating.

However, I accept your experience as being longer than mine in this search, if you find think things are working better with less details on your profile, then don't change it.

hmmmm
I have never been a Pro Domme
nor will I ever become a Pro Domme,
and I am quite sure that those here
will attest to My being quite Dominant.

My Dominance does not come from what
I wear, what I look like, or whom I am with.
My Dominance is sumthing I was born with.

All too often anymore we read "Pro Domme" like it is something negative, when in fact it is just another aspect of the lifestyle. For those boys and girls that want their Domme in fetish clothing when that door opens, for their "session", and pay top dollar for it...it's out there. I don't know a lot about it because 1. I am not a Pro Domme, 2. I don't have a Pro Domme "best friend", and 3. I've never been to one. However I don't actually think this is an issue of Pro Domme vs non Pro Domme. I think it is more like some maybe not so submissive boys attempting to pull one over. I can certainly appreciate your post, Simone.

Some of the males that I have met with have claimed Pro Domme experience, and have demonstrated that "do me" attitude along with that "Are you a 'real' Domme?" question when I wasn't wearing fetish clothing or spike heels. One of my personal favorites is, "I like to be spanked after completing each task." or "I have a special collar I like to wear when in service, it puts me in submissive mode." Birth put me in dominant mode, and I wasn't wearing anything. The point is, that they are only submissive if it is their way. And their way includes a certain image for Dommes.

I believe it was the thread on spike heels started by Sundew where we all talked about playing in clothes that are comfortable. I love leather, and am partial to chaps at times. But it's really up to me, how I feel, my mood, what I want, who is involved, and location. Since I am not a Pro Domme, if I am involved with someone it is toward the goal of a long term relationship. Therefore when subbie gets spanked...is up to me. It isn't about the clothes, it is about the attitude, the carraige, the command, the knowledge, the skill, and the intention. If they aren't feeling it, then they definitely need to move on...I certainly will.

Never have I allowed the male that kind of control. I am a Domme to the bone and like it that way. IF I let them pay it is for what I want to use on them. I am content to be what I am a lifestyle Domme. But neither am I a sugar tit to support them. sundew

I am a lifestyle Domme and I don't dress up to please the subs.  I just like to be comfortable and be myself.  Not into playing a lot of games.  But the so called subs want you to dress and do things that please them.  They all seem to top from the bottom.  They are seeking someone to fulfill their fantasies and I am not the one.  So a real sub/slave is very hard to find.

What I very much dislike about the suggestion that all dominant females are pro's*, is that it implies a female couldn't possibly be motivated by her own desires - desires for power, for pleasure, sexual aggression, the desire to be the subject rather than the object of desire, the desire to have things her way.  It suggests that even when a female appears to be dominant, she's still actually only doing it to fulfill the desires of a male.  Heaven knows how threatened everyone gets when a woman wants sex or power or to just please herself.

*(not that you're making the suggestion, Laura, but that it's a perception that's out there)

...oh, and regarding wearing fancy or fetish clothes, I love to dress, to me it's part of self expression.  Some of us - I believe we're called high femme ~.~ - feel right wearing the beautiful, the dramatic, the sexy, the kinky.  So there are women who like that, too, and dress that way because they enjoy it.

However, I remember reading Diane Vera talking, a long time ago, about how male submissives shouldn't expect her to dress to please them.  Her style was more t-shirt, jeans, and casual boots.  And I  respect that stand.
