I never saw all the ways in my life that I accepted raw deals for me. Much of my talents, skills, and goals lay neglected under years of doing what was easier for others. I was successful, respected, and stable, but truly I was lost, because while I enjoy those things, they were never integral to what I wanted to do with my life. I prefer to walk on the edge, to disturb the comfortable, and bleed willingly so that I can know the secrets of life.
Always I took care of others, even when small, and I never thought anyone would take care of me, much less WANT to. In reality, my needs are far more complicated than things like housing, money, etc. As the song goes, I need someone "man enough to be my man".
I did not know what he was, or what I was, when we first met, but so powerful was the connection that I dared not, and cared not, to turn away. Fast forward months of training and tumbling from grace, into divine celebration of submission and the delicate, paradoxical beauty of our dynamic. Things have changed now, but today, thanks to my master, I will never set foot inside any of the little boxes people would like to put me in. All my life I had people holding me back - until I met someone who would hold me up.
The change is dramatic, a silent roar.
