Dana Perino said the other day that the "Mission Accomplished" sign Bush stood under was suppose to say “Mission Accomplished For These Sailors Who Are On This Ship On Their Mission.”

Who knew it was only meant for the sailors on that ship.

Bush did fly out to an actuall carrier group, that was returning from very sucessfully accomplishing it's mission. And gave a speech to those Sailors and Airmen, recgnizing that fact.

But, why let reality get in the way of rhetorict, leftists seldom do.....

And it only took all these years for them to come up with that?

I don't know which is more amazing. That after all this time they FINALLY came up with that piece of information or that some are so agenda driven they will actually pretend to believe it.

Dana who? She's a lightweight nobody and nobody important cares what she thinks about anything; not even her pantyhose or ass and feet, which she probably thinks are too big.

She was the official voice of the Bush Administration for several years.  Now of course her status is kinda irrelevant.

Any special reason you're commenting on her ass and feet?

So Bush's speech declaring “major combat operations in Iraq have ended” under a "mission accomplished" banner was actually a speech about 1 ship in the navy completely its mission?
I guess realty and facts are all in the eye of the beholder

Lucylastic; Both are doing very well, though we are still in a battle with the dam insurance company.

Yes, let's not let rhetoric get in the way of reality.

Point out to me where he singles out the carrier group.

This is what he actually said, as much as some would like to revise recent history:

Text Of Bush Speech - CBS News(AP)

May 1, 2003

Remarks by President Bush announcing the end of major combat operations in Iraq Thursday evening from the deck of the USS Abraham Lincoln:

Admiral Kelly, Captain Card, officers and sailors of the USS Abraham Lincoln, my fellow Americans: Major combat operations in Iraq have ended. In the Battle of Iraq, the United States and our allies have prevailed. And now our coalition is engaged in securing and reconstructing that country.

In this battle, we have fought for the cause of liberty, and for the peace of the world. Our nation and our coalition are proud of this accomplishment — yet it is you, the members of the United States military, who achieved it. Your courage — your willingness to face danger for your country and for each other — made this day possible. Because of you, our nation is more secure. Because of you, the tyrant has fallen, and Iraq is free.

Operation Iraqi Freedom was carried out with a combination of precision, and speed, and boldness the enemy did not expect, and the world had not seen before. From distant bases or ships at sea, we sent planes and missiles that could destroy an enemy division, or strike a single bunker. Marines and soldiers charged to Baghdad across 350 miles of hostile ground, in one of the swiftest advances of heavy arms in history. You have shown the world the skill and the might of the American Armed Forces.

This nation thanks all of the members of our coalition who joined in a noble cause. We thank the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom, Australia, and Poland, who shared in the hardships of war. We thank all of the citizens of Iraq who welcomed our troops and joined in the liberation of their own country.

New? I guess y'all werent able to read in 2003:

"After the news conference, a White House spokeswoman said the Lincoln's crew asked the White House to have the sign made. The White House asked a private vendor to produce the sign, and the crew put it up, said the spokeswoman. She said she did not know who paid for the sign.

Later, a Pentagon spokesman called The Associated Press to reiterate that the banner was the crew's idea.

"It truly did signify a mission accomplished for the crew," Navy Cmdr. Conrad Chun said, adding the president's visit marked the end of the ship's 10-month international deployment."

You wouldnt know reality if it bit you on the arse lucky. To suggest the banner only meant the ship doesnt account for Bushes speech a few months later, does it ?

Bush reiterated a "Mission Accomplished" message to the troops at Camp As Sayliyah on June 5, 2003 — about a month after the aircraft carrier incident: "America sent you on a mission to remove a grave threat and to liberate an oppressed people, and that mission has been accomplished"

Rumsfeld admitted in an interview he had taken out the words mission accomplished from the original speech himself. Claims that the banner was the ships crews idea are just later spin, but we know that dont we.

Major combat operations were over and sucessfully acomplished. The Taliban Government, and Saddam's Government had been destroyed, and removed completely from power. Major Combat Operations were over and the occupation had begun. That is clearly what was said in the speech. And it is clearly what occured in reality.

This has been left wing Spin, from day one. And it is a testament to the Left leaning bias of the media, that this is the first time you have ever heard these things.

No Politsub we certainly do not know that, why don't you provide some sort of evidence.

RML, where did I say he was singling out that aircraft carrier? Can't you debate with out making stuff up?

This isn't New Spin, it is what has been said all along.

Nothing made up, I posted the direct quotes.

The only thing made up is your ridiculous multiple profiles where you come on here and post under different names agreeing with yourself.

What on earth are you talking about? I am me, and me alone. I have used a few other names due to being banned...but they were all variations of Lucky dog, Dawg, perro del suerte, and artic maestro. None at the same time.

That you and others keep making the accusation is kind of sad. The Mods can see our IPs and I wish they would set you and the rest of your silly gang straight about it. But you can't handle debating issues or facts, so I guess you resort to baseless personall accusations....About all I expect from you....

But I still never said he singled out that carrier, which you accused me of. It was a speech to the millitary. From the lead carrier, returning from accomplishing its mission.

Our troops accomplished the mission of toppling Saddam and the Taliban very successfully.
