How many of you here have ever used nets in your play?  I ask because I am really intrigued and when it comes to BDSM, you hear of all these kinds of kink toys for restraining except for nets.  It seems maybe the suspension bondage fans would like these to.  I think being in this position would be really interesting as a sub/slave...

This is definitly a form of restraintment I would like to try at some point.  I especialy like way the person in this pic is tied up while inside the net.

I live more than 6 hours from the sea, so nets are not highly available in my locale. We do occasionally have sex or play in a hammock though, lol.

I noticed he didn't fight much though..even though my netting
expertise is minimal

I love the skin patterns they make after you pull them off. A hammock is great for suspension.

Wow, my Appy gelding is responsive to leg aids but I'd really be afraid he'd trample someone. Especially if the person fell when netted. You are braver than me!

Oh I agree, I think it would be really hot.  Just looking at that picture makes me get all excited and wishing I was in that spot lol.  It must be because the rarity of the use/talk of nets.  I would definitly like to use them.  Both in GM's idea and in the way the picture shows.

JJohnsJR24, I love the idea of using a net for bondage. Seriously, if you have a reasonably strong material, all you need is a good way to fasten the ends together, and then anchor it to something. A ready-made cage that adjusts its shape to the captive's body, allows fairly unrestricted range of motion while still keeping the sub confined, and can easily be stored away when not in use. Now that I think about it, I'm surprised that nets aren't much more prevalent in BDSM store inventories.

You might get more responses if you moved this thread to the Bondage Gear and Apparel forum.

if you consider the kikkou or turtle harness in shibari, it is a personal and intimate 'cargo net' in its own right.

I think nets have a definite place in bdsm. At least once per visit to these forums I find myself saying "Get the net!".

Cheep nylon camping hammocks make great nets. They are also good for 2 dimensional rip cords. (zippers) Lay over a section of sub, apply clothes pins, and pull off quickly.  Also, they make a bungee cargo net for pickup truck beds, those would make fun nets.
