About fucking time some democrat grew a pair of stones and stuck it to that mealymouthed little weasel. I've finally reached a point where I'm actually glad I voted for him.

quote:

Joe Lieberman must be wondering if his colleagues' respect for him went out the same window that he tossed the public option and the Medicare buy-in compromise that was to replace it. He got an answer of sorts Thursday afternoon as he came to the end of a floor speech, and ran out of time. "I'm sorry. The senator has spoken for ten minutes," Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.), as the chamber's presiding officer, told Lieberman. Customarily, when senators ask unanimous consent for a bit more time, consent is always given. "I wonder if I could ask unanimous consent for just an additional moment," Lieberman said. "In my capacity as the senator from Minnesota, I object," said Franken, in what appeared to be a dramatic departure from the long and stifling tradition of Senate collegiality. "Really?" responded a stunned Lieberman.

Pretty uppity for a junior Senator with less than a year on the job.  Especially considering how desperately the Dems need Lieberman.

Huffpost thinks his response was "stunned."  I heard a different tone in his voice.  Something along the lines of, "and whose little rug-monkey are you?"  (Funny how we can use these words, or not, depending on who we are talking about, huh?)

We'll see how it works out for Al.  My money is on Joe.

Really no need to apologize, Joe Wilson.

About time someone on the Republican side grew a pair...

When you let a comedian run the Senate chamber this is what you get.

A year later you've decided you're glad you voted for him. That's as glowing a recommendation as I can think of.

If that twat who lost to Franken hadn't stomped his feet ad infinitum filing motion after motion trying to halt his election whilst knowing full well he had lost, Panda wouldn't have had to wait quite so long to see his guy elected - let's not forget the song and dance the Republican candidate made, shall we?

I'm with Franken and Panda - time somebody stood up to Lieberman, that narcissistic wankfuck.

And our previous admininstration showed us what you get when you let a clown run the white house. Educational moments like this are always something to be cherished.

I try not to think mean thoughts about people but in some cases it is simply impossible.

Al Franken is a pompous, arrogant, self center twat. He was never funny as a so called comedian and he drips condescending disdain towards anyone who doesn’t agree with him on everything. His so called election was dubious at best and I am inclined to believe that he cheated because such things as fair play, honor and integrity are not only alien concepts to him – he actively hates them. Thank God he is not my Senator (and I have Charles “outta my fucking way there’s a tv camera over there” Schumer as one of my Senators).

Wait… that wasn’t fair of me at all… I shouldn’t have called him a twat. Twats are warm, serve a useful purpose, and their company is to be desired. My apologies to all twats. I should have said pompous, arrogant, self centered, shit head.

Sigh. How fucked up is the Senate that the denial of an additional minute to blather on meaninglessly is seen as more transgressive than the motherfucker from Connecticut denying his cloture vote to the Caucus that gives him his chairmanships.

I couldn't care less about their silly little rules disputes - I just get a little teed off whenever I have to think about that uncaring, ego-stroking, dim bulb. How could anyone have actually voted for that lobotomized gorilla in a suit? What the Hell were they thinking? Who you going to vote for next? Fred Phelps? Sarah Palin? Rosie, O'Donnel? Donald Trump?

People in love with the smell of their own farts have no business being in politics on any level - much less the Senate.

There I go again - my apologies to gorillas and anyone who has ever had a lobotomy. It was wrong of me to compare you to that stupid, vile piece of talking turd.

If you ask me, I think that Obama looks more like a chimp. But keep up with the old photos anyway.

I'm talking about Al Franken, not Obama. While I don't care for most of Obama's policies (tax and spend - yeah, that'll work, same as it always has) I really don't dislike the guy and I thing he means well - he's just wrong headed. Franken on the other hand... well, I've had my say on him.

Nor would I ever call Obama a chimp. The racist overtones are obvious and I despise bigotry in all it's forms; so I would ask you to please keep your racism to yourself. It pisses me off even more than Al Franken.

This is the second time I've had somebody confuse my talking about Al Franken with Obama. I don't get it. What gives?

Did you think the same way when the liberals compared George Bush to a monkey for 8 years ? I don't really see the difference. They thought that was funny, I think Obama is funny.

Serv, just because the Democrats displayed their bile, hate-filled hearts, and essential inner ugliness for 8 years is no reason for us to sink to their level.

What does that have to do with Al Franken enforcing the Senate's rule on Lieberman, hmmmmmmmmmm?

(Get. Over. It.)

See how there is always a bright side to everything?

Now you can chuckle your way through the next three (maybe seven) years.

Isn't it nice how well things work out sometimes?

Although isn't it strange how servant expresses his amusement with whining, and not with laughter?
