Yeah this is a problem. They live in a fantasy world where they think the man will provide for their every desire that they will not have to work that the man is worthless and is a pig if he doesnt that the man is inferior etc., They need to wake up. A lot of guys dont now have unending wealth, guys who are submissive do not all regard themselves as inferior and guys who cannot provide for a relationship do not all see themselves as pigs. And no we do not necessarily eat dog food either or live on beans and chips

I think collarme does have an unusually high number of scammers compared to BDC or some of the other sites we used to hang out in... but at least so far they are pretty easy to spot.

Most of them are not women but are men in a west African internet cafe 'working' a shift for a living.

WHY must people insist that they're being completely original by posting a thread about the 'fakeness' of CM because they are entirely too lazy or stupid to even scroll down the page to see several posts of the same subject, put it up in the proper forum, or even *gasp* do a freakin search?!? WHY do people keep replying to them?

I haven't noticed those profiles but then again I haven't been looking at the profiles of females that much. lol

I guess some of them might be newbies so they come across like they're not into bdsm.

Now you've got me curious so I'm going to go have a look.

More disturbing then the fact that they are here is that there are so many of those profiles ...look at the new users ...i would say on average 6 new ones open every day.

Now if that's a scam then they must be having some degree of success to put that much effort into trying to con some poor backed up bastard out of money for a plane ticket.

so to recap....the worst part is that somewhere someone is feeding into these fairly transparent scams.

I've been here for a year, so I don't qualify as new anymore, but all my profile photos are vanilla.  That's because NO ONE gets to see anything else til we've entered into a dynamic together.  I do have vanilla and kink interests listed to the left, and I try to write a good essay portion.  A good profile makes a better impression. 

Oh, and by the way, I didn't notice anyone else say it.....Welcome to the Boards!

From almost day one i've been getting mail from very attractive young ladies, claiming to be female dominants, who never mention the subject, have clearly never bothered to read my profile, yet are very desirous of sexual talk. It's something to which you almost become accustomed. As in life, there are always those who would seek to shaft you, when dealing with such people you must be carful and not let your JT make all the decisions.

OP, you mentioned Dommes.  Trust me, there are a heckuva lot of scammers posing as female subs/slaves as well.  They use profiles similar to the gag one that hejira posted.  And they usually have pics of beautiful women, just like her.  [:)]

I suspect the scammers are only a problem for people who are new to CM or are exceptionally naive. Mostly, veteran CMers are too wise to be taken.

There are a lot of fake profiles. If you window shop a bit, you can find the same pictures/profiles that are supposedly in various locations.
