"In fact, U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson of Orlando took such offense at a parody website aimed at unseating him that the freshman Democrat has asked that U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder investigate the Lake County activist who started the anti-Grayson website “mycongressmanisnuts.com.”

Specifically, Grayson accuses Republican activist Angie Langley of lying to federal elections. His four-page complaint highlights the fact that the Clermont resident lives outside his district, but that Langley still uses the term “my” in “mycongressmanisnuts.com.”
"

The Democrats are such great fodder for humor. Its a shame the comedians are so slow to embrace them for their stupidity.

Yep...that's pretty stupid. No doubt about it. And the fact that republicans have shown that they are equally fodder for humor doesn't make it better. In fact, I'm kind of ashamed of this guy. It's a shame I can't just blow it off as "he's not a 'true' democrat" or try to rewrite it so that what he does makes sense.

But the GOP hasn't been immune to the comics to the extent that the Dems have, thats the difference.

That's because progressives who are funny but have no real talent for government go into comedy. Conservatives who are funny but have no real talent for government get other conservatives to elect them.

Cheer up...you have Denis Miller and he's funny, if a bit overfond of obscure references.

Good point. Obama has no real talent for government, so he's making a joke of the US.

It would be even funnier if it werent so true, and so serious a problem.

Well, maybe if some conservatives dragged their party out of bed with the religious right, found some ideas other than "cut taxes" as the only appropriate solution and showed some of the "fiscal restraint' they speak of, there might be a choice to make when election time came around.

So far, I haven't seen it.

We sort of agree..twice in one day...a record.

the problem is that you characterize the GOP as the conservatives' party. It hasn't been for 19 years.

I think I remember that Bill Clinton had a similar problem. At his Federal Grand jury hearing he had issue with the word 'is'. Like 'is' oral sex really sex? ' Boy these democrats..

No, the problem is that I haven't seen any conservative values in 19 years. And I haven't seen any that don't represent a social agenda that I find it impossible to support.

It was even funnier than that. It reminds me of the comedian who speaks gibberish with enough real words to sound like real conversation.

""It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is. If the--if he--if 'is' means is and never has been, that is not--that is one thing. If it means there is none, that was a completely true statement....Now, if someone had asked me on that day, are you having any kind of sexual relations with Ms. Lewinsky, that is, asked me a question in the present tense, I would have said no. And it would have been completely true.""

Thanks Will, I couldn't think of the rest of it. You have to give it to slick Willie on that one though. It's a classic.

The guy cheated on his wife and tried to weasel out of it. It was twenty years ago. I personally think more current humor is funnier. Like Mark Sanford claiming he was hiking the Appalachian trail while he was banging his Mistress in another country. At least they could have reached Clinton by phone in case, I don't know, they actually needed the chief executive?

Oh..and is anyone aware that the week that Sanford was supposedly hiking the trail was "Hike Naked Week"...now THAT's funny.

I have to agree spinner. Sanfords story was pretty good to. His press secretary even said he might be lost. Maybe voters of both parties should be paying more attention to what is going on ?

Oh I think he did a lot of good things as President, just not enough to outweigh the bad. Cutting capital gains taxes, the small business tax incentives in OBRA '93, getting involved in Kosovo and Somalia (though the execution/withdrawal was pathetic) and recognizing the danger of Saddam were all good.

If he weren't a sociopath he might have actually been a good President, but he let himself get in his own way.
