Since the year is almost over what in your opinion are the best of 2009? These can be personal milestones or otherwise.

slaveluci -> RE: Best of 2009 (12/20/2009 9:29:53 AM)

I saw Hank Williams III not once but TWICE in 2009. I saw Willie Nelson for the SECOND time. I saw Billy Joe Shaver, Merle Haggard and Chris Knight for the first times ever and I saw Yonder Mountain String Band. Pretttttty good year musically, I'd say[:)]

Getting a new home.

SL4V3M4YB3 -> RE: Best of 2009 (12/20/2009 10:02:11 AM)

Nothing happened this year. Probably things did happen but I can't remember them.

I will remember what happened this year in a few years time when people are reminding us of all the things that happened this year.

In fact what happened this decade? I think the first half was more eventful than the second.

Viridana -> RE: Best of 2009 (12/20/2009 10:08:20 AM)

This was the most uneventful year in many years time for me.

SL4V3M4YB3 -> RE: Best of 2009 (12/20/2009 10:10:18 AM)

Well apart from the financial banking crisis and such like I suppose.

We all thought we had monopoly money in our pockets for a moment there.

sexyred1 -> RE: Best of 2009 (12/20/2009 10:13:25 AM)

2009 was pretty much one of the worst years for me:

In no particular order of suckiness: broke up (finally) with longterm relationship, lost a job, had unexpected surgery, father was in hospital, car was stolen and found out who real friends vs. acquaintances were in times of trouble.

Hoping 2010 is slightly better. [:o]

DarkSteven -> RE: Best of 2009 (12/20/2009 10:18:55 AM)

The best thing for me was that I found that I had diabetes.

Having it and not knowing is hell and is dangerous to boot.  Having it and knowing is not at all bad.

Same for me. Relationship loss, weight gain, job loss, death of my mother. It can only look up from here.

Im glad you are back You were hard to e-mail for a while. I know you were dealing with illness. But I am sure glad you are on your way to recovery in more ways than one.

Glad you are back here too. It wasnt the same without you.[:)]

Thanks. Glad to be back as well; it's funny, after being gone for awhile, I thought I missed much, but some things remain the same around here, which is good and bad. You are still giving out great advice, so that is nothing new. [:D]

The advice I give you now is temper truth with tact and TOS. We want you to stay for good. Also, dont be afraid to reach out when things are bad. More than one have thrown me a lifeline when i felt I couldnt go any farther and things appeared bleak. Love us and let us love you. And know that your friends love you unconditionally and the rest dont really matter anyway. Love yourself and forgive yourself and treat yourself like you are worth it. You really are worth it. You are priceless.[sm=hearts.gif]

Justme696 -> RE: Best of 2009 (12/20/2009 10:58:29 AM)

2009
first year since a while without serious illness
kicked some "friends" out and focused more on those who deserve it.
lost the 25+kg I gained in 2008
worked on beeing more patient and beeing less agressive (in my choice of words)

overall..much changed....it needed to be...and it feels good.

oh yes..2009...a winter with snow!!!

sexyred1 -> RE: Best of 2009 (12/20/2009 10:59:17 AM)

Taking up with an adventure group to experience the great outdoors. I camped on a beach for the first time. Won't do that again, but something to scratch off my list of must do's. Over all, the experiences with the group have made 2009 end up being one of the best years , for me, this decade.

Even so, I've learned I prefer Cabins.

LadyPact -> RE: Best of 2009 (12/20/2009 12:00:54 PM)

Some of My 'bests' of 2009 are already all over these boards.  LOL.

I had great opportunities to meet some fantastic folks from CM this year and had wonderful times with them.  The Lady Pact cross country tour made for some great memories.  It gave Me the chance to meet Merc, beth, Wyldhart, Panda, Otters, SthrnCmft, kitten, Vendeval, Steel and his girls, and a slew of others.  I had a blast with all of them, whether it was something as simple as meeting for lunch or something that turned into the famous 'orgy noises' story that has become such a good giggle around here.

Plus, I got to attend three major events this year.  SELF, Thunder, and Folsom, the last of which had been My first time there.  I've found Myself a lifestyle group reasonably close in Bakersfield that is a great fit for Me.

Also, I became a grandma again just a couple of weeks ago.  That will keep Me smiling long into years to come.
