Status: offline 		Hi All,   I have been intrigued for quite some time now by a piece of equipment called manheim chastity that I saw on the internet. In short it is a very strict male chastity belt for long time wear, such as the Latowksi, equipped with several of electro-stimulation points around the genitals and on an anal dildo, that can be controlled by sms messages. It was quite a disappointment to learn that this article does not really exist – the website, manheimchastity.com  is a scam.   However I did some research and found out that it does not take NASA technology to build at least the e-stim part of what is described on the manheim site.  In fact I am convinced that it can be made much smarter that is described on the manheim site. Also I think that a strict chastity belt like the Latowski does not have to have a selling price of over 1.000 Euro. (There is also a lot on the manheim site that I would not recommend to develop or use, for hygienic and health reasons. Part of it is based on the wrong assumptions, such as the thought that you can overfill the intestines with enema fluids and it will be ‘pressed’ towards the bladder – the human body simply does not work that way).   I am now preparing to make my own first prototype, and thought how it would be to make equipment like this a commercial product. Now I have two questions:
1. Do you think there would be interest for equipment this? Where could I go to find out what the ‘market volume’ would be? 2. How much would you be prepared to pay for it?

Any thoughts would be appreciated

Status: offline 		sounds like an awesome idea, but pretty complicated. Would require some pretty extensive knowledge of software and hardware engineering. Basically you would need to know how to take a certain input (sms or email) and convert it to a certain output through whatever hardwear you have. The applications could be endless. Not mention you would most likely need to reverse engineer whatever you're using for your input receiver (most likely a cellphone), to be able to handle that input.

Status: offline 		Zoltron, thanks for your reply. You are right: it is complicated, but that is not the most difficult part.
I think the most difficult part is how to make the controls user-friendly.
Hardware, software, there are people out there who love to write and design it.
In fact the technology is not that much different from what is already on the market already, such as the Erostek 302R (www.erostek.com), that works with a tiny sender-receiver. Part of it would have to be built into the belt, however in the front piece of the Latowski belt (www.latowski.de) there is plenty of space left for that.
Remains the interesting question what would be the bandwidth of an acceptable selling price for this, in other words, how much would you like to spend on it.

Status: offline 		lol well I can't really help you with that, since I'm not particularly interested in what you're trying to do. I just like the idea of a device that can be controlled remotely, through internet or sms.

Status: offline 		from experience, i would say forums probably aren't the best way to gauge interest and cost. I have done some of basically what you mention. I have a erostek 301 and a 302 and the magnetic locks on the bondage frame controlled from computer and via the internet. And people from the forums here and other sites who played with the tens controls and the remote room via my web site expressed a lot of interest , but when i told them to control 8 on/off devices , the serial relay output box costs around 120 they said forget it.

but that doesn't mean there wouldn't be a lot of demand if one was "available" , the thousands that use forums are only a real small percentage of the kinksters in the world.

mostly just my opinion, but some from experience

Status: offline 		I think there would be a great deal of interest in such a device, particularly if you can make it reasonably affordable. The interest in chastity devices seems to have really exploded in recent years, but the cost of really high quality, effective devices is usually prohibitive. An innovative, smart design that does the job effectively (including comfortably wearable as well as secure), and isn't too expensive should go over very well, I think.

Thanks for your reply! Having read it, and having seen what you made, it encourages me to go along with this project.
I am aware that I will only reach a very small percentage via forums, however I still hope to find an indication of possible interest here.
A Latowski belt is sold for around 1.200EUR, and an Erostek unit around 300USD.
It seems reasonable to assume that the price of what I intend to make will be something between 1.000 and 1.500EUR.

Well not sure if it will help. but what i did i was bought 2 extra remotes for the 301 and 302 (each one has a code ) and took them apart and wired them to a serial relay output kit i bought. Not sure if you want to use this method, but here is what i used for the output module

Status: offline 		I'm always interested in something, especially if it's well designed and I like the idea of it being remote controlled.

If there is something out there the likes of which I've never seen before and really speaks to
me, it's hard to say what my upper limit might be on what I would pay.

Although I wouldn't be interested in this.. Only if it were a female chastity belt would I be interested.

Thanks for your information. Indeed I intend to disassemble a few different e-stim units to learn how it all works as a first step. Step two will be to try and integrate the complete hardware package, batteries, reciever etc - in a Klyster aluminum 'Fat boy' plug. (www.klyster.com). Already discussing this with the Klyster guys.
Am not in a hurry, and will keep you posted on the results, and thanks for your offer to answer my questions!

Will keep your comment in mind when the male version works. What works for a male device, in principle works for a female device as well. I know Latowski makes female belts as well, although they do not advertise it that much... R

Status: offline 		Sounds fun! waaay out of my price range though. I can believe other people would pay that much.
Having worn a CB6000, I must say that even what is meant to be the most discrete chastity device isn't really, and what you describe is bound to be less discrete (oe less secure) unless you think of something really clever.

On a slightly different note:
[at] both ranstad and Irishm57: I have considerable software experience, including dealing with serial protocols from c / c++ (Qt) / python. I'm always looking for fun projects to contribute to!
