This is the real truth about the climate change e-mail situation. The idea that there is a deliberate conspiracy on the part of scientists to conceal from the public the truth in order to profit somehow is absurd. Climate change may in fact turn out to be something that's caused by the sun and has nothing to do with man-made causes but these guys are doing their best to find out why the planet is getting warmer and their work has nothing to do with being dishonest.

Further reading of stolen emails reveals scientists searching for the truth -Climate Progress

While a number of the emails have been flogged around the blogosphere and captured much of the attention, I found that a lot of emails worth seeing have gotten no attention at all. Including some that show that the denialista’s claims of a grand conspiracy is more of a grand hallucination. Because the stolen emails contain plenty of discussions that reveal just how hard the scientists work to make sure they are getting the information right.

You do understand, don't you Brian, that a suggestion such as this is precisely what gets people labeled as deniers, right?

I think the larger question here is why people hold onto certain parts of e-mails but disregard the rest of it.

The timing of the whole email scandal just before the summit is also fishy but you aren’t asking why your attention is being directed a certain way all of a sudden.

I don't see what's so bad about keeping the planet clean and not polluting it with plastics or other garbage and greenhouse gases.

A few days ago, I was watching this scientific show and they were talking about using hydrogen and fusion to create enough energy to supply the entire planet with energy. They said they would need a small lake about a mile wide and 50 feet deep.

I don't see why we have to pollute the planet using oil and have these ridiculous wars that cost a lot of money bankrupting the country. I'm sorry but I just don't get it. Even Barry Goldwater wanted to protect the planet and the environment. I just don't understand since when you have to be a polluter to be a conservative?

Umm, fusion is a thermonuclear reaction. Think the Sun. Think Hydrogen bombs. Think in your dreams, I'm afraid.

The production of Hydrogen for fuel requires a great deal of electricity and an infra structure system of new fueling stations as well as modifications on vehicles. Sounds enormously expensive to me. But hey, who knows. It may be a solution.

Have you any cost projections?

Vincent

You are funny.

The plan for a 20% global carbon tax is in the treaty.    The emails are even worse then the news is reporting.  There is talk about filing criminal charges on those who knowingly pushed fraudulent science.

Of- course- you could read for yourself- both the emails and the treaty....

No, the larger question is why "scientists" held on to certain parts of the data, and disregarded what didn't fit their theory.

They are scrambling for any justification, even if it's one that they hotly denied (!!) just a few short weeks ago.

There should be.  Fraud- and someones hand in MY pocket is not welcome.   It is still theft. I will keep you  posted on the charges.  They are pending.
