i figured it was appropriate considering everyone seems to know my name. i just want to thank everyone for all their support.  i guess i'll be on here from now on...hope all my friends find me here!!!!

Hello HnBG,

In the Gorean community it is often said that the word for stranger and the word for enemy are the same.  I find that I rarely integrate that belief.  Rather, I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt.  Unfortunately, that has bit me in the ass a number of times recently.  Not only did Tammy write me and ask me to lie to her fellow, but I was the one who called her on her lying in the "Introductions" thread. 

Then, my sister came to the site and posted a very intimate and private thing about me - mostly true but not completely.  It was not something I am ashamed of, but it is something I choose to keep private.  For good reason, I keep these things private.  Frankly, this is the least of what has happened in the last year from that camp.

And then the Gorean thread happened.  *sigh*.  On the heels of my leaving a Gorean home where I served for almost a year.

Are you Tammy?  I don't know.  I have my suspicions for valid reasons.  I will not lie about that.  Realistically, it doesn't matter for me.  *I* am not open to strangers right now.  You or anyone.  I've been burned ... deeply.  If you are not her, then I owe you an apology for speaking my suspicions to a couple of others.  If you are her, then this is another bait and switch.  For now, I don't know you from a can of paint.  I will take a wait and see approach.  I don't think that is any more than anyone can ask when a stranger steps into our midst.  It is one of the best things I learned from the Goreans - make people prove themselves.  That includes us.  I hope that you are making us prove ourselves.

There are people who will gush and be charming and loving and all yummy with you.  And thank goodness for those people.  I am not one of them.  Not now anyway.  How do I know you aren't my sister gathering more information to try to slam me with as far as my friends and my family go?  I don't know.  How do I know you are not Tammy trying to pull the wool over our eyes again?  I don't know.  But what I do know is that I have not chosen to say "bullshit."  I have chosen to wait and see.  For what it's worth that is my decision - perhaps that is worth nothing.

As Red said, if I'm wrong about babygirl not being tammy, I will say so, and do what little is availible to make someone very sorry for creating such bullshit.

I do have to say, that the fact that you and your Master are from the same places as Tammy and Art makes me go hmmmmm. If I'm wrong I'll apologise but that one sticking point keeps me from welcoming you wholeheartedly.

Until it is otherwise proven beyond any doubt, baby girl is who she says she is. I refuse to make mis-informed snap judgments based on supposition and coincidence....hell hasn't frozen over for that to happen.

i understand all the reasons, i truly do. i am a fairly easy going person and try not to dwell on the past. i do know what it is like to have family and friends hurt you for no other reason that they can. It's sad, but i know it does happen. i'm not asking anyone to blindly trust me, this lifestyle pretty much prevents that. i am who i am and i hope in time you feel i have proven myself.

i do want to say to all those who have apologized, the past is the past and as far as i am concerned the past is forgiven.  i am looking at this thread as a new start for everyone involved.

To all those who have stood by me, thank you so much! People like you are the reason the world turns!!!

I understand where you are coming from hisbabygirl. I also know that I think I'm a decent judge of character and learnt many years ago that when you're (general we) decent to others, others will be decent to you. Some do become jaded, bitter and cynical when people and life smacks you down too many times, yet I always believe that what we put out to the world is what we get in return.

That is how i try to live my life bear. It tears me up that people treat others that way, especially when it's family. i am looking forward to continuing friendships started here.

Here's the thing:

I don't know you from Adam.  You are a name on a computer.  Personally, I don't care if you are this Tammy person or not (although I hope you are not, because she was always pretty annoying, if I am recalling correctly), but if you are, so what?

You have not done anything to me or mine (my close friends on here) that I know of, so we don't have a problem.  If I knew of problems like that, we would have a problem, because while you may just be a name on here, some people are much more than that.  And on here, we take care of our own (I have been watching too much Firefly).

However, saying that, I have nothing against you, and think that all the people who are accusing you on false pretenses with no solid evidence owe you a great big apology.  You have a right to be here, no matter what screen name you use or who you are, and I welcome you.  For whatever that is worth.

I have no dog in this fight.  I also do not know the thread(s) in question.  But as far as those making accusations, is it possible that they know this (alleged faux) couple in real time and perhaps have more information than the on-line friends?  It's definitely something to consider.

It certainly is.  However, if they know them in real time, then I think it should have been kept in real time.  This is a message board; I don't think these accusations have any merit on here, and personally, I feel they should be taken elsewhere.   Just my thoughts.

Thank you trapped. i can understand how some people would be leery of a stranger. i honestly do understand and respect this. i know i am not tammy, as you said to others, i am a name on a computer so that's why i am willing to forgive and forget easily. No one here knows me from Adam (and if there is someone here named Adam, i am not him either lol). i  don't expect anyone to just instantly say "Sure i believe you, come to my house, meet my family and play with my children and pets."  i woud never ask this of anyone. i do hope to eventually make some real  time friends on here, but i know this is a ways down the line. i'm not willing to sacrifice my family and security for a stranger, i don't expect others will either.
