In the end it's all relative because eventually it'll be paid off. It's a balance the individuals will only see in terms of service cuts or tax rises. We are all paying more than previous generations because we have to service a system that provides for more and more people. This is obvious to all but fiscal idiots with their rose tinted specs wondering how it (the system) was able to be more affordable when the government wasn’t spending on two wars and associated higher homeland security costs. If we really want to get into a debate about our national debts then I have to point out the UK only recently repaid WW2 debts to the US (before immediately going back into the red). I can't remember however this being a war that only affected Europe? I helped pay off part of that debt and I wasn't even around when the war started or ended. Where are all the people crying out in outrage over the debt I was given? Realistically I don't moan about such things because winning that war was vital to create the world in which we live now. This notion that we have only just started passing on debt to our children is a right wing fallacy

They certainly weren't pissing and moaning about that one while Bush was hiking the deficit up, I noticed. One interesting thing about your point about nostalgia is that taxes on high earners were a lot higher back in the good old days before the liberals took over the country that wankers like Rush Limbaugh are always blathering about. I suppose he wasn't earning at the time.

You idiot! That's a 'blog and it doesn't cite any references except for another 'blog. Furthermrore, the Interpol thingy that was signed was already signed in 1983, Reagan term. Obama just amended it. You should probably try reading this stuff first.

Just imagine if the "red list" was a list of all the bankers who fucked the nations up - red being the colour for losses after all. Now imagine that Interpol was let loose on these people - able to link worldwide their behaviours now that the US has joined in. Next ponder that Interpol is in fact the Gestapo, as postulated in another thread here. Does it now seem so bad that all on the red list will be disappeared by 1st March? Forget tinfoil hat factories and dodgy websites, I'm putting my money into the leading piano wire makers of New York state. And dont pretend you dont prefer this version compared to the OP E
